chrome rims

ok guys, i have eagle alloy 026 rims on my truck and it looks like the outer lip of the rim is stained or something?? is there anything i can do to fix this??? also there are some small spots that look to be brake dust on them that are stubborn. anything to take care of that?

If they are truly chrome (not clear coated) then Meguiars NXT all metal polish might work.




If they are clear coated then you can try some Megs Scratch-X.

OK here' my stupid question, how do you know if they are "true" chrome or "clear coated" ?:o

Take a light colored MF towel and use something like scratch-X on a small spot. Work it in then see if the cloth turns black. If it does it's chrome. If not it's clear coated.

I have similar marks and whatnot on my MM 951's that Midnight described in his opening posts.

I've only had them about 6months and 5K miles but road grime/dirt/brake gunk and everything other has accumulated over time.

I've used the product below on one other ocassions and am about to use it again later this afternoon.

I'll post pics this evening.

Should add that I've tried washing and, although much of it is removed, there are "cloudy" spot build-ups that seemed to have camped out.

Try MOTHERS BILLET polish...You will never use anything else again
