My 303 experience!
My 303 experience!
Been a lot of talk about this product lately. I've been using 303 on my 03 FX4 for four years now. My truck sits outside 24/7 in Michigan. I have not had any fadeing problems at all! I use it on all exterior plastic, weather stripping, toneau cover and tires. It's kind of expensive to use on the tires but I really like the way it repels dust and does not have the wet look. Tires just look jet black! I think that most manufactures of auto vinyl products recommend 303. I have not tried Vinylex yet but I will pick up a bottle when I see it.
I have been using a product from Adams called V.R.T, not too happy with this prduct. Everything sticks to it and it leaves stuff all over the paint. I have heard nothing but positive things about this 303 stuff. Where can i get this product? Is it something i will have to order?
Gotta call around to see if anyone local has it. I would check with a store that sells tonneau covers. Should be easy to find online. I get mine from a Michigan autoparts chain called Murrays Discount Auto. I pay $7.00 for a 8 ounce bottle and $14.00 for a 16 ouncer. The full name is 303 Areospace Protectant.
I put some 303 on my bed rail caps and wiped them off completely like the directions say. Even used a microfiber towel so I know I cleaned them off pretty well. It rained a little bit last night, and now there are streaks down the side of the truck. WTF... How could it run, it looked like it all soaked in... Anyone else have this problem

I've been experimenting with Vinylex lately. When applied next to the 303 the Vinylex makes the trim look darker with a tad bit more shine with no visable run off.
I'm still lobbying for somebody to try this stuff.
Black Again is a clear, thick lotion that goes only where you put it. It won’t run and leave residue where you don’t want it. Black Again is not a temporary fix. It provides a solution to the most common trim offenders: Oxidation, Sun Exposure, and Wax residue. From the moment you apply Black Again you will notice the difference: it cleans the area... permanently! This product is actually UV activated. After applying Black Again the manufacturer recommends placing the vehicle under direct sunlight for maximum effect! That’s because the compounds in Black Again react and respond to sunrays, making it the best UV protectant for all exterior trim. This superior UV protection gives Black Again impressive durability. Trim retains a new, ‘wet-shine’ luster long after the initial application and through various weather conditions.

I had the same experience on my truck. I applied it on a Sunday and on Monday morning it was all over both sides of my truck. I think it has alot to with where I live. The humidity was rediculous that night so it probably never really got to soak in. Could be your problem as well.

This is normal for 303. It's good for UV protection in dry weather... but runs when it's wet.
It leaves more of a matte finish but it protects better than anything else out there garuntee that...what you may want to do is put the 303 on first and then put some armor all over top of it if you like the shiney look....best of both worlds!
Has anyone used the new Turtle Wax Ice? I've just seen it in the car isle at walmart. I also notice there is rarley if ever a forum about turtle wax am I the only one who uses it? I use it because my dad always used it and i havent had any problems with it.
