Michelin Brake Dust Repellent

No brake pad reviews please.

Reviews and claims are this OTC, BDR works very well. But I want to hear it from a Ford truck owner about Michelin BDR. The size of my rotors and calipers are twice the size of my Dodge truck. I figure if this stuff can hold up to Ford, it can hold up to anything else.

i tried it and didnt like it. applied it to a clean chrome rim and it smeared all over the place. had to clean the rim all over again just because the product made it look like crap.

I've used it, have a bottle sitting at home. I think it works okay but you might as well just wax your wheels.

Did you follow the directions?

OK this is great info. Thanks fellas.

The neighbor guy wants to argue with me over this stuff. He has an '07 King Ranch--absolute beautiful truck. I just can't stand to watch this guy trashing his truck. It's pitiful really. He'll have it all srewed up in about a month.

I have used all three Michelin wheel and tire products on many occassions. I love the wheel and tire cleaner and the tire shine, but I was not all that impressed with the bdr. I'm not saying that it is a bad product or that it doesn't work, but I wasn't blown away with the results. I agree with Thumper...it takes so little time to wax my FX4 wheels that I usually just go that route.

I think the jury is out on this product all the way across the web. Some swear by it... others call it garbage.

I've never tried it. I said I was going to and it fell off of my radar. Now that I have 'Kleen Wheel' inserts, I doubt I'll ever buy it.

I do, however, know the manufacturing company (Petroferm). I've done air permitting work for them.

Well, he put the Michelin BDR on his wheels. He has these wheels (below) and they are beautiful wheels. Anyway, I'll have to admit, they look great with the Michelin BDR applied--mega shiny and slick. I don't think it's any better than Aquawax would be though.

I'll give him your tip on the wheel inserts RP. Thanks bud.

yeah i followed the directions. i always follow the directions on car car products because if you dont you can seriously screw up your truck. i can see it working great on a cleared rim with some color on it or a mag rim or something to that effect. but after i applied it it just left streaks all over the rim.

Well I just feared for the guy trying something this new in reference to Michelin BDR. This truck of his doesn't even have 50 miles on the thing and here he is out there with a product he or I knew nothing about and didn't so much as read the label directions--let er rip right? Well I got outta there figuring he'd blame me for the distraction after his wheel finish melted off all over the ground. Looks good though.

I told him I would come back over this weekend. He knows I'm interested in the durability. He likes to drive so it should bode well. I'm trying to talk him out of those wheels too. They are sharp lookin'

I'm not so interested in the durability... I'm more interested in the functionality.

What I'd really like to see is someone mask a wheel into two halves. Apply one side with the MBDR and leave the other side 'as is'. Kind of a side by side comparison on what the MBDR can do ...

You mean they sell stuff that doesn't function as advertised?
