She shines!!
She shines!!
I did half with NXT liquid and half with #20, and it's curing right now. I'll take a better picture tomorrow after I apply and wipe the S100. Guess which one is on this half showing.

Thanks RR.....The picture sucks. It was starting to get dark. I shoudda waited till tomorrow I guess. The lighting just doesn't do any justice. I can see an ant crawlin 20 feet away in the side.

This will get a few rolled down window at the stop light comments of "hey man, nice truck"
Those are priceless.
What was your process? NXT over what? Was this over S100?

Nope....I'm suppose to wait 12 hours for the wax/sealant to cure, before applying the S100 as a topper coat. Believe me that was hard thing to do with wanting to get the process completely over with.
All I used was #80 speed glaze with an orange Edge 2000 pad. Then went over it again with a Edge white polishing pad using Scratch-X. Both products are really phenomenal at polishing paint. Toss up as to which one I like better.
I definitely much prefer the #20 over NXT liquid. No comparison really. At least on black anyway. The NXT just doesnt have the umphffff. It's like it missing something. I shook the crap out of too.
Almost forgot. The Edge white/black combo pad I used the Scratch-X with? That sucker tore itself right off the plactic disc. I dunno if I was pushing down to hard on the thing or what, but it looked like a Frisbe. I laughed my *** off.

Thank you very much zambonimaxx. I do appreciate it.
Heck man you don't have to get a brand new one. You could get a newer F-150 and save all that depreciation money, for a butt kickin' sound system. And polish.

You're learning young grasshoppa...
Nice job.
BTW, Scratch-X on a polishing pad with the PC typically doesn't work all that great... it tends to gum up pretty bad and doesn't ultimately do a very good job in my opinion. S-X by hand -- it typically works very well.

Great job! Questions on the 20, did you apply just one coat or two? Does 20 require about the same curing time as NXT? So far I'm OK with the NXT, but the curing time really drives me completely nuts.
I tackled the 00 XL this weekend, it's not really been taken care of for most of its life, so it requires a lot of time. It's currently in what seems like 9 different stages: one bed side and tailgate with 2 coats nxt...hood, roof, and other bed side with one coat, both doors and front fenders not even touched yet. I need 8 more hrs a day, maybe a "work from home day" this week will get it done

I hear ya scorpio333. I work 72 hours a week myself. Then I worked polishing my truck from sunup, till sundown, this past weekend.
I only applied one coat of sealant. Two coats doesn't really do anything other than hitting places you may have missed the first go round. Some may argue that point, but I called Mequiars "hot line" (printed on the back of the bottle) for the same question, and that would be the response I've gotten. You'll also have the same curing time issues with #20. I believe Duragloss makes a bonding agent used for their sealant which many claims are putting Duragloss at the same level or rivaling Zaino for significant less moo-lah, but the equivalent in durability.
Thanks RockPick. You're a mighty fine teacher. I put on the S100 and all I can say is, whoa Nelly! I finally got it out in the sun and I was honest to God stunned. I've never had a vehicle shine that hard before.
I did NOT like the NXT at all. I used NXT on the passengers side, and #20 on the other. No comparison. NXT just doesn't look good on black. I could see a blue-ish haze like it didn't wipe off right. The haze didn't go away after sitting overnight curing either. The S100 helped the hazing, but it still didn't have the same shine prominence as #20. I think I hit on a good combo using #20 and S100 on black. I'll post a picture of her in direct sunlight today sometime. I want to hit it with some of that 4 Star Gloss Enhancer and see what that does first.
