Thx to everyone for the tips!!
I bought a 2004 SCREW XLT (!BLACK!) about six weeks ago. I was immediately on a mission to lose all the swirl marks. I started down my own path, and at the advice of my trusty body-shop man, took care of the swirls with the 3M perfect-it product line.
I still wasn't overly pleased with the actual finish, though, it didn't have the depth I wanted to it.
I spent a few hours on here last night, and after a lot of reading decided to try the NXT. Holy [insert-noun-here]!! I couldn't believe what a difference it made with just the one coat. I did 1/2 the hood first, sort of hoping it wouldn't make that much of a difference (so I wouldn't have to go the rest of the way around
), but I was amazed by the difference. The side I did looked 3" deeper than the rest.
So, I've got one fresh application on, and I've got some S100 on the way tomorrow. Would a second application of the NXT make THAT much of a difference, or can I go ahead and just apply the S100?
Also, the liquid glass window cleaner in conjunction with some micro-fiber was freakin' lights-out, another great tip.
The only problem, is that I've showed my handy work to two people, and as a result, have two trucks to detail this weekend.
Thanks for all the help folks, greatly appreciated!!

The second coat of NXT will make a difference in durability. I doubt you'll see much of a difference from a 'looks' standpoint...
If you go with the second coat, be sure to allow time before the S100 topper.

By 'humidity up', I'm going to assume that you mean 90%+? If not, I'd probably default to 12ish.
During my research into the Dubuque area after being offered a job there with Deere, I don't recall the humidity really being that big of an issue... the mosquitos near the river were though. I hear they're the size of pelicans. LOL!
LOL. Humidity hasn't been too terrible, but we've got a freakin' ton of flood water around here that makes it worse when the temps get up. Just muggy I'd say.
I'm going to install some new lights in the garage this weekend (horizontals all the way round!!), so I'll probably just wait until the weekend. Hit it with some QD and then apply S100 (unless that's a no-no?).
And yes, the mosquitos in the quads are pretty good sized. Nothing one of these can't handle though!! They're a freakin' blast, if you don't have one, you should...
