Cleaning Aluminum Toolbox

I did a quick search but didn't find anything (I really don't think I know how to use the search function to its full ability either). I was wondering what a good product is to clean an aluminum toolbox? After the snow and some of the road salt gets up on the box, it starts to get that salty, hazy look to it. Anybody know of anything to bring it back to full shine?

If you have a Harley shop around, this is what I use--great stuff for polished aluminum. That foam applicator is one tough little bugger too. The diamond plate doesn't even bother it. $10.00

Polishes and protects in one easy step
Faster, easier and more economical than pastes
Removes corrosion and brightens Aluminum, Stainless steel, Chrome, etc.
Biodegradable and non-toxic

The best thing that I have ever used is Diamond Brite truck box polish. I bought it at either Lowes or Home Depot it is about $15 for a bottle or at least it was when i got my bottle back in 2002 and I still have some left. When I bought it I thought it wouldn't last long but a little bit will go a long ways. It will turn your yellowish hazzy truck box into a shiny new looking box

I'd think I'd have a problem with liquid or pastes given how labor intensive it would be removing from around diamond plate risers. I suppose the ball would help with that, but.

The S100 polishing soap is, just that, a soap. It foams up like car soap and then you just rinse it off, dry, then buff to shine. As a matter of fact, the next time you wash, it will enhance the shine even further. I mean, you can't even look at the shine reflecting in direct sun light, it's that blinding. Anyway, I felt that it would be remiss on my part if I didn't explain the ease of using the S100, especially when it comes to polishing diamond plate.

Don't try......

Whatever you choose to use to clean a tool box with, don't bother with Mother's Aluminum Polish. Worthless. You'd probably have better luck with Ivory Soap.

Yep the Flitz ball is good also. I swear I've read where firemen use the Flitz on their diamond plating. I'd have a problem getting anywhere near my paint with a drill however. One slip it's toast.
