Feedback on Rainx Latitude wiper blades???

I have seen this commercial several times tonight and they look like they may be a legit answer to streaking? They have some special deal if you buy from their site but they are also available through other sellers online as I discovered. I was just wondering if anyone has seen them in person or if anyone tried them? I can't see anything negative about them but would like some opinions from people who have actually seen them at work.

I haven't tried them but, in my honest opinion, the concept makes sense.

That is, if you're talking about the commercial that references the 6 points of pressure on the windshield with traditional blades... the only thing I don't like is the overall look.

I went with Silblades many moons ago and I have nothing but good things to say about them... no streaking and they're as good today as they were when I bought them nearly 3.5 years ago.

Yeah that makes perfect sense to me also, I was wondering why they haven't come up with something like that years ago. I'll have to check out Silblades too.

No one around here sells the rain-x...but I believe they're really similar to the Bosch Icon blades. I bought a set last year for my Ranger (18") when they were on sale and was waiting for the nice weather to put them on...now that the snow's gone, I don't have my Ranger, so I'm going to go return them for whatever size my F150 takes...I've been meaning to go do that.

I've been thinking about trying them but am probably just going to get the silblades instead. I keep forgetting about ordering a set, I need to put post it's on my laptop or something, .

Not get off topic but just out of curiousity. Everytime I go to purchase new blades at the store it says that I take (1999 F-150) 20" blades for each side. It fits prefect on the driver side but on the passenger side it overhangs onto the plastic vents. Drives me crazy. Do I really need a smaller blade on the passenger side or is this just normal?

lol you're supposed to have an 18 on the passenger side. You must not be scrolling down to see the part where it tells you the passenger side size.

I'm serious, go to Rain-X.com and look up a 99 on the wiper selector. Bosch also lists the same sizes.

F Series : 1980 - 1994 : 18" Driver 18" Passenger
F Series : 1995 - 1996 : 18" Driver 18" Passenger
F Series : 1997 - 1998 : 22" Driver 22" Passenger
F Series : 1999 - 2007 : 20" Driver 20" Passenger

Yeah, you're right. I just checked advanceautoparts.com and they call for 20's both sides as well. Last night I did a quick google for it, and somewhere I saw 20 driver 18 passenger, but now I can't remember where.

I bought similiar ones from BJ`s whole sale club and they work great. I will put them on all my cars from now on. I also went up to 22'' blades on both sides and it works great. I have an 05 screw. They arent in my sig.

I know I'm going to be called ignorant, but could someone explain to me why this is in a detailing forum?

Honestly, I thought long and hard. I asked myself what windshield wipers had to do with cleaning up your truck. Then, I realized the original post talked about streaks.

Then I asked myself: "Self, won't the whole truck need to be washed and cleaned if it rains enough to cause streaks on the windshield?"

So I'm back to the same problem. WTF do windshield wipers have to do with detailing? I understand the two bucket system. I've seen the "No Water" car wash bottles at Walmart. Did I miss a session in Windshield Wipers for your paint?

Not sure if you are joking or if you are being sarcastic or what but I think if you don't like the thread you can just pass it by unless of course you are the thread Sheriff or something. Sorry if I wandered into these here parts Sheruf, I'm juss passin threw, maybe you could direct me to the proper place to discuss wiper blades, if not the forum where "car care" is being talked about. Seriously, did we need the rant on "why is this here?" Sure makes this a great place to make friends and get info.
