Cleaning Exhaust tips

Hey guys...right now my magnaflow stainless tips the are really nasty from the winter salt. They are salty with mud that has been heated on. They look really bad with specs all over them. What can i do to clean them really good? I usually use mothers chrome polisher but they need a good cleaning. What do i use? thanks

I live on a chip and seal road, and no matter if it's summer or winter, tar is constantly coming off the road onto my tips. I use Eagle One Never Dull and it works great for that stuff. So far, the time I have used it for the winter salt and mud, it worked. Just takes alot of rubbing.

Thanks! I'll have to give that a try. I have my tips exit at an angle behind my rear wheels (not the best decision if you want to keep them clean) so they're always dirty. Would be nice to really clean them up once in a while. Thanks again.

Hold on there with the Never Dull. Depending on your finish on the tips (ie; chrome, polished, clearcoated chrome, etc), Never Dull can do one of 2 things:
1: Wreak havoc. It has a very powerful chemical that can and will destroy many finishes. Clearcoat is toast if it comes into contact with this stuff.

2: Work Wonders. On polished metals, Never Dull is perfect. Be it Brass, Stainless, etc, it is a fantastic cleaner/polisher/protectant.

Either way, be careful and G'Luck!

I have been known to use Ajax. Yes, thats right, Ajax kitchen cleaner, works amazingly well. Gets off the real nasty stuff, then polish thereafter

Try some Turtle Wax metal polish. I used some on the exhaust of my 27 year old motorcycle. If it worked miracles on that, yours should be no problem.

Simple Green and elbow grease! Use a metal polish or Never Dull. I have Stainless Magnaflows on the truck and the Cobra.

Magnaflow

On my previous Magnaflow tips, since they are polished stainless, I'd use a damp SOS pad. That's steel wool and soap, so it was easy to work with and cleaned them up real nice every time I washed my truck.
