In short, I'd recommend spraying a little 'Kaboom' on a shop rag while standing away from your vehicle and using it to wipe down the glass...
Again, this is a USE AT YOUR OWN RISK scenario...

again.. be very careful, this is not without risk, but it might work for you

you can always gently wet sand with a very fine grit paper...
Also heard of ppl claying too.
I usually just scrub the windows down real good with my usual car sponge, but im 6'6" with a lowered truck so i can easily scrub the entire window without climbing a step stool, or getting all soaked from leaning against the truck.

one of my Georgia friends used this kit on his car, and said it worked wonders .. I have never tried it, but his judgement is usually pretty good ..

Gonna sound funny, but you can also use newspaper right after a good glass cleaner... The newspaper is just barely abrasive enough that it pulls a filmand most water spots off, and really polishes up the glass. One of my buddies also used a coregated cardboard thing on glass and says that works really well for removing some bug guts etc... Personally i have never tried it..
