Meguiars NXT Problem

A while back, my dad got me hooked on NXT. Loved it. He gave me a bottle of his and it was great. I finished that bottle and bought another. But something was different. This bottle, the wax was noticably runny compared to the first. The first was thick and creamy. Squeezed a little out from the old and the new bottle and I was right, a lot runnier than the first and slight different shade in color. Also during use, you can tell there's a lot of moisture in the wax. My foam polishing pad feels wet with water, not like wet with wax. When you are applying it to the truck, the water actually beads to the surface of the wax layer and ends up leaving water spots, I kid you not. So, went out and bought a second and a third bottle to see if it was a fluke...Nope, same thing. My next step is to call Meguiars and ask about this and then my second step is to return to Eagle One. But, thought I'd ask and see if you guys had any similar experiences??

I'm not sure but don't they make a liquid wax and also a booster wax? I would think the booster wax would be more thin

Hard call...

Meg's does, on occasion, tweak their products to the point that it runs some users away. Personally, I've always found that NXT is more of a soft liquid that wasn't 'runny'.

I'd definitely give them a call. They may be able to shed more light on the situation and, potentially, will drop ship you some because of your troubles... good luck and let us know how it goes.

I still have some from about 2 years ago and its thick like you were saying but I tried the Mothers Syn wax this time and loved it. Its very easy to apply and remove.

there is NXT liquid, and NXT paste, and NXT Spray Wax (it is a spray on booster wax)..

you would know if you have the spray wax, as the bottle has a sprayer on it ..

and call them .. everytime I have had an issue, they have dealt with it by sending me a replacement .. and most of the time, somethign extra in the box for my troubles.. Meg's has one of the best customer service groups going.

I have a bottle right now that does the same thing. I was told it might have frozen sitting in the garage. It was fine when I first used it last spring. I went to use it this spring and it was all watery. It may have just separated from sitting too long, I guess.

I have the same problem, and it only occurs when it's really hot outside. (as I wax outside...no garage) It seems to still do the same job, though. My advice, keep the bottle cool, and wax in the night when it's cooler. (if it's hot where you live) I don't think it's a fluke, either, because several friends all over the country have called to ask me about this, and the advice I gave them supposedly helped. Aside from that, shake every time before you dispense some wax, and that should help some with the separation.

But, myltlpny may have it right; it may have separated over the winter.

Good luck, and let us know how everything turns out.

Hard to believe that's it with this happening to three bottles in a row and none of mine have sat for any amount of time. Trust me, shaking is not the issue. I always keep it at a descent, constant temp and always wax indoors. Performance is not the same as it was with that first bottle. All the other bottles have been used/stored in the same conditions as that very first good bottle but no problems with that one.

I know we have our own personal levels of analtivity but the performance difference between the bottles is such that I wont use this product the way it is. If I can't get it like the first bottle, I'll go to something else.

Maybe the retailer kept them in an uncontrolled area. It's a lot cheaper for them to allow these "unperishable" products to sit through heat and cold, through drastic humidity changes, and to allow them to sit for inconcievably long periods of time before sale (at some reatilers). Perhaps you got a bad batch at your local shop, who knows. At this point, I'd call Meguiar's.

Good luck.
