Warning for those that clean with canned air
For those that use the "keyboard air cleaner" to clean their vehicle and smoke, this is what can potentially happen

Man, Ford really dropped the ball building that KR if some little can of "air" can blow it up like that. I bet a Toyota would have done 100x better, and the customer service at the dealer would have been way better when they took it in to get fixed too.
Yes, they can explode like that and that truck is not a rare occurrance. I have never had it happen to me, but for my job we carry around cans of compressed air to clean dust out of the ATM's. There have been several incidents throughout the company where cans have exploded. One person that just quit from my office had a can explode about a year ago. He had it in a briefcase style bag. It exploded and ripped the bag into several pieces. He had it in his car and it had not been in his bag, it probably would have busted the window out. Another person out in Wyoming had a can under his seat and was in 70 degree weather and the can exploded and burned and bruised his leg.

The type of vehicle has nothing to do with what can happen when these cans of air explode. They are very highly compressed gas and can and will explode anywhere and at anytime. I bet if you went to other car forums or searched on google or something, you would find many more documented cases of this happening and probably a lot worse than that truck.
Cans of compressed air is not something to play around with.

I have had a couple aerosols explode at work. One exploded under a table and blew a hole through the tabletop, the other blew through a ceiling panel.

Good piece of advice. I never considered dusting that way but it is something to consider. I'm sure as a whole it is safe but in this case the "perfect storm" of circumstances came together to cause the problem.
Have no idea how this is a manufacturer's failure. I'm hoping that is sarcasm.

So, the guy's detailing a car while smoking inside of it? Something doesn't seem right there...
I suppose a 'hot' wire or a poor connection could yield something along the lines of a spark to ignite the gas but, if it was smoking -- well... it seems like they need to reconsider their detailing practices.
From the accompanying text in the link it appears that he finished cleaning his truck and then lit a smoke. The chemicals from the 'canned air' were still in the car and caused the explosion. I imagine a spark would have caused the same result.
Yeh, well I have worked in construction for years, and I saw a lot of dumba$$es out there doing dumb stuff like that.
The one that took the cake for me was, when I was in the army (20 years).
When I was in Germany we had a First Sergeant that would walk up to a barrel of solvent with a cigarette in his mouth and be cleaning his personel weapon. I always used to kinda evacuate the area at that point!
