Ford Mo Co auto care products.

I was wondering if anyone else uses Ford's auto care products. I use everything they sell for paint, inside care, oil, you name it. I have had great luck with everything just wondering if anyone else uses their stuff.

I was attempting to figure out who made that stuff for them about a year ago and never came to any final conclusion... Meguiar's makes a boatload of stuff for several manufacs but, for the life of me, I can't figure out who's making that stuff for them...

I haven't used any of their products... which car care products (ie: wax, interior, protectants, etc), specifically, do you like that is branded Motorcraft -- beyond oil and such?

The leather cleaner works wonders. The vinyl care shines and deepens the black on my dash and does not leave a greasy buildup. The wax dries well and leaves a good shine. They have a paint sealant that I have yet to use. The tire and wheel cleaner is awesome. I have also used the nickle anti seize and it seems to be flawless.

I forgot to mention the bug and tar remover and the bright metal cleaner are good too. The metal cleaner works wonders on those chrome tip exhaust that might get a little rusty it cleans and brightens like crazy.

This is just me, but I wouldn't use that stuff on my truck.

I always like to get stuff I know that works great (example, I am too a Meguiar's fan) I highly doubt a Ford product cleaner can beat what Meguiar's can do.

I'm happy you like what the Ford cleaners can do, but do yourself at least this at least one time. Try out some Meguiar's cleaner one time (wax, dash trim, leather care...etc...) then see if you like that better then the Ford cleaners.

My father works at ford so one day he brought home an entire box full of their cleaning stuff, usually I wouldn't buy it. Their window cleaner cleans really good but can leave streaks if not done properly (like the inside of the windsheild where its difficult to reach). Vinyl cleaner works great. Shampoo is decent but I only use it for the mild washes otherwise I use Meguiar's Gold instead. I didn't find their wheel/tire cleaner to do that good of a job and I went through an entire bottle in 4 washings and still have breakdust that can't seem to get rid of. I haven't tried anything else, I may try the metal cleaner though if it does what you say it does.

my experiences with Motorcraft products is positive.

The foaming window cleaner works very well.

paint polish (spray and liquid varieties) also works very well.

Maybe they may not work as well as a premium brand like Meguire's... but coming from the factory, they wont harm your vehicle. Why? Well, with a $40,000 truck purchase, they wont sell you something that scrathec the paint. Ford has enough problems with substandard paint jobs without selling you bottled sandpaper.

I can't help myself here. I wasn't going to post, but what the hell. Ford autocare products are made by, you guessed it, Meguiars. So do you still doubt that Ford products are as good as megs?

Unless something has changed... I don't think they are Navi... I was checking on this not too long ago but, I could've missed it...

I know Meg's makes a lot of the Mercedes, BMW, Dodge, and a few other brands and I know that Meg's and Ford have a relationship however, I'm not sure that they make it...

I cannot say for sure, but someone who works at a Ford Dealership parts counter told me that he was told that they were made by Meg's...

In a Court of Law - heresay!

doesn't mean its of the same quality as Meguire's.

Any manufacturer that produces a private label brand for a retailer will not make it better than their own branded product.

So the Ford stuff may be as good, or it may not. Chances are it is a completely different formula than the Meguire's branded product.

Yeah RP, I asked them and they didn't know, then the *smart* guy came out and said it was by megs. J is right though, megs probably makes them a baseline product, without the *special* ingrediants in their stuff.

One REALLY funny thing is that one of my contacts at Meg's didn't think that they made any of the Motorcraft stuff.... *shrugs*
