Bug deflector clarity restore.

Thaught I'd share this. For anyone who has a real hazy bug deflector, remove it, clean it then dry it good. Go buy some 3M plastic cleaner and 3M plastic polish, not one or the other buy both. Follow the instructions and bam, brand new!!! Do both sides even if it's not necessary. You should have to work at it pretty good, unless your using power tools but it's worth it.

I've heard a lot of raves about that particular product... Another one that is a little more readily available and recieves an equal amount of praise is Meguiar's Plast-X... while I haven't used the 3M product, I can attest to the Meguiar's Plast-X product...

Glad to hear that you worked it out! It'd be great to see some before and afters!

Dont mean to hijack the thread...
I just got a bottle of Plast-X to use on the headlights but havent tried it yet. What else can I use it on?
Just picked up my first Meguiars clay bar kit today too. (All I wanted to get was a sparkplug for the rider.)

You can use both of the products mentioned on just about any 'swirled or scratched' plastics...

I believe you can, and it turns out great, doesn't last forever, but looks great for a while anyways. Ya, you are right, the 3M stuff is usually available at autobody supply stores or by chance somewhere else. I will take some pics too and post them on my gallery.

I've use the 3m products on my hazed headlight (one was replaced when i had a small accident, and the other side looked it's age) The 3m products made it look like new... We bought just the polish one time before to try on a buddys car, it didnt work out so well. Definetly buy both products....

Oh ya, did the same because the polish was out and it didn't work. Went back for something else, looked and boom there it was- cool. Baught it used it and the pic tells the rest. Doesn't last forever, and some bugs are permenant but overall very impressed. I just did the taillights to my 64 Galaxie and they look NOS or better.
