headliners

Looking to get the inside of the truck detailed been to 2 detailing shops to see what the offered for there service. One of them told me the roofliner could not be cleaned cause it would pull off when they were cleaning it The other shop told me they would steam clean it and it would be ok any1 had this done and could fill me in .

Steam is, obviously, hot water vapor... it seems to me that the hot water vapor could, certainly, cause the glue that binds the fabric with the backing material to give way...

Hard call...

Maybe one of the detailers here that utilize steam as a method of cleaning can chime in. I don't have a steam machine... or an extractor. I'd be leary all the way around because of the ULTRA-THIN nature of the fabric up there... it seems that if you look at it cross-eyed that it'll pull down.

Be careful...

dont use steam. ive seen it done and it has been a 50/50 on wether or not it fell down. what has come to me thats been steamed has tell tale lines in it from where the suction head left them. didnt look nice after it dried. they told me that it looked good when they left, then just horrible afterwards...

anyways, the best way to clean it is get you some clean rags. you want to "dry clean" it. spray the cleaner onto the rags and wipe the headliner. you will be suprised at how much comes off. if it is really dirty, do it once, let dry, then redo. this way the headliner doesnt fall.
Commercially, if you can get Blue Max from CarBrite, it'll do a great job.
Retail, use Meguires Heavy Duty Carpet & Interior Cleaner

I have this and it works great, just spray on whatever cleaner you want to use and hold this over the spot and the brush rotates. It is also rechargeble and you could use it in your house too.

Holy cow whammy batman!

Someone riding bulls on Friday nights and then using your headliner as a towel!?!? That's crazy man! LOL!

Glad to hear it's coming out though!
