Secondly, as Boss alluded to, I simply said that a trained eye can, without a doubt, tell the difference between certain products when used side by side on a vehicle. Honestly, I think you could too if you tried a simple 'side by side' test with a full synthetic LSP on half of a hood and then a carnauba based LSP on the other half... in fact, it's VERY distinct -- even on whites and other light colors!
While you have very good merit in saying that a good 'foundation' (assuming your talking about the proper preparatory work on the painted surface before going with a last step product) is important on any 'detail job', I still, whole-heartedly, disagree in that all products will have "the exact same appearance from any good wax/polish." Sorry bud... it's just not the case.

None of them are perfect. Any type of public forum will yield folks that give bad advice... most, as well, will have some folks that yield excellent/top-notch advice...
The best advice is this... surf oodles of them and soak up as much as you can. Once you've managed to soak up the info, make inferences back and forth to see the consistency across the sites... from there, attempt to give it a try (this is where a 'junk yard hood' comes in VERY handy!!!).
There's OOOOODLES of detailing sites these days... and, in all honesty, many of the same folks frequent them all individually so, keep that in mind too.

Thanks RP. I have been going to a few different forums (meguiar's, autopia, etc.), but, to be honest, I have found this forum to be the best environment in which to learn so far.
The only way to know what works the best is to try it. I guess I need to find a good site from which to order samples. I don't like experimenting by buying gallon sized bottles!
Let us know if you see a product that you're wanting to try... someone here might know of a place that would either send you a sample or have a 'sample sized' portion for sale...
Unless you're working in to the products that are strictly detailer bulk, you shouldn't have a problem buying 'consumer sized' amounts...

Let me know if you recommend any other sites with smaller sizes or trials of Meguiar's products. Thanks!
