love bugs
as luck would have it, I drove through a cloud of love bugs the other day and I can't get all of them off. I know that they will start to eat through the paint shortly, and I really need to get them off. I've scrubbed so hard that I thought that I was going to rub the pain off. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to gut them off of my bumper?
I lived in Tampa for nine years. As stated earlier the sooner you get them off the better. They will start etching the clearcoat in less than a week. I used Meguairs detail spray...keep it wet with the spray for about five minutes and they wipe right off. Good luck!
Go to Dollar General or any other discount store and buy the cheapest Fabric Softener sheets that you can buy. Moisten with plain water and lightly scrub your agravations away.
I was first told this a few years ago by my youngest daughter (she had just got her drivers license), so I said, "Yeah, right". She was washing her car one morning when she called me to go see. Darn, if it didn't work like a champ! We've always washed well with soap and rinsed afterwards and never had any damage done to the paint, headlights, chrome, etc.
What say you RP; any cons against using "Dryer Sheets"?

Another thing that works well for bugs and tar as well...WD-40. Spray on, let soak for a few minutes and wipe off with a soft cloth. It works on all surfaces and doesn't harm the paint. Only drawbacks...it leaves an oily residue that you have to wash off...it also removes your wax but then so does bug and tar remover.

I've never used dryer sheets but have heard of folks (here specifically) doing it... If it were mine, I probably wouldn't due to the scratching potential and would rather let a chemical do more of the work for me...
There was a VERY lengthy love bug thread here this time last year to my recollection... you guys might give it a quick search to dig up the past information as well...
