Tell me to search...fair enough....I havent yet...

I have the 3 step process from Meguiars (1 is cleaner, 2 is polish, 3 is wax). I used them on my wifes car and it looks great. My sister has a black car and it did an ok job but the hood still looks dull and "oxidized" (I'm not sure that is the correct word).

What products or steps would you all recommend that is more aggressive and may help return the original shine to the car if it is possible.

try ColorX by Meguiar's. I have had good results using that on dark colored vehicles.
It can be applied by hand or machine. I used a PC when i used it.

I gotta throw this in here for giggles -
Decades ago I bought a tan 59' Intl. Scout that had sat a long time and oxidized unlike anything you've ever seen.
A friend told me to use Comet cleanser to get rid of the oxidation and apply a good paste wax ........... it worked really well!!
This was in the dark ages before clear coat / 2 stage, of course.

Don't even think about it.

The white spots are chips and the hazing is pretty obvious especially around the washer fluid jets..

Okay... what products have you utilized to attempt to remedy this? Do you have a PC?

 

I made the same attempt as my first post on just her hood.

The 3 step meguiars with a DA Polisher.

 

Can you try the paint cleaner again (step 1) with the system? Does it make any dent what so ever in the oxidation look?

I'm worried that you might be seeing the begining stages of clear failure... especially because it's around the nozzles... those are direct portals into the engine compartment and thus, heat. If there is any place for that heat to displace the paint/clear around that nozzle, it will. I'm afraid that might be what's going on...

 

It helped some yes. I ran it twice all 3 steps. I guess I could increase the speed and use more pressure but I'm a novice and don't want to make it worse. Just wasnt sure if there was a more aggressive product to try. A repaint may be her only option.
