Question Tonneau Cover Care

Just wondering what the best (UV) protectant product is for my black vinyl tonneau cover. What do you use?

Thanks!

I use a product I got from Line-X called Just Once. It has UV protection. I used it about once every six months.

I got some of that tonno tonic by Extang. I like it, goes a long way. I'm planning on getting some 303 soon, and I think I'll try that also.

303...works great. Easy application, gives cover clean look even coverage, and provides good UV protection. I tried Just Once once, didn't care for it. Went on kind of blotchy, didn't spread as evenly as 303, didn't think cover looked as good. I use the Just Once now on my interior trim.

I'd stick with a product like Vinylex of 303. Further, I'd use it often.

Those things take a beating from the environmental conditions and any 'hand up' that you can get on making sure it continues to look new and that the plasticizers and vinyl components don't prematurely break down would be more than worth it if it were mine...

Is the Vinylex of 303 easy to find? Do the local parts stores and Wally worlds carry it?

I second RP's recommendation of Vinylex. I put it al over the exterior black trim and makes these parts look brand new. I put it on my Undercover and looks awesome.

Pepboys keeps it on the shelf. Beyond that, you may have to order it.

303, as has been mentioned, can often be found at boating supply stores that have a 'cleaning' section...

Just put a Extang Full Tilt on last night and before it gets too much exposure I want to treat it with something. I just bought a bottle of 303 and did the dash n 'at. I am very impressed. I've steered away from any "armor-all" like product for a few years now. Extang says using anything other than Tonno Tonic voids the warranty. Is this true??? Usually I could care less about warranties, but my cover has very slight 1/8" tear in it already so I may need to use the warranty sometime. I'm leaning towards the 303, cause really how the heck could they tell if it was 303 and not the tonic?

I have used 303 and it leaves streaks in the paint and cover after a rain storm. Granted, it is easy to come off the paint with a washing but I would rather have something that lasted in the event of a passing shower.
