brush scratches

I have some light brush scratches running down the length of my truck, I was wondering if there was a way to get those out or does it just have to be repainted. I'm not used to having a newer truck to take care of and keep nice, I'm used to having the old scratches are just character trucks

Probably need some pictures before we're really able to help out much...

Yeah I would love to get some pictures on here, but my truck is in Arkansas and I'm in Afghanistan, so pics will have to wait. I just wanted to get some ideas that would help with scratches. Something that fixes the deeper the better, I can live with them, just want to make them less visible I guess.

First and foremost, thank you for your service to our country.

Secondly, pictures would help and, if you can feel them with your fingernail, the general rule of thumb is that they cannot be removed. Certainly, however, we can probably lessen the appearance.

There are lots of good 'scratch fixing' products on the market and I'd encourage you to check a few of them out.

Mothers has one on the market that's in a yellow bottle (the name escapes me)... Meguiar's makes a couple of products (one called Scratch-X is a very common a popular product that does a good job), and SEVERAL others out there.

It might take trying a few of them out and seeing what each can do on the problem.

Don't expect miracles... they will help but, based on your description, it's probably a long shot to totally make them go away... from the sounds of it, you're realistic about not being able to totally remove them... that's a good thing.

Give the Scratch-X a try... I think it'll probably help out some...

Should cost around $7 or $8 and should last a good long while...

Also, I was wrong on the Mother's product... it's in a RED bottle...
