Magic Marker on Plastic Trim

A friend of mine has a 2005 F-150, she came out from work today to see the "f" word written in magic marker on the plastic part of her bumper. I was wondering if you guys new anyone that might remove magic marker without damaging the trim?

I know fingernail polish remover will take off magic marker, but not sure how it would affect the plastic trim (?). I'd try a small amount on an inconspicuous area and then go from there....

Hmm, isn't that part black already? Clever little ***** of a vandal...

Best remedy would be to check into the price of replacement... I'm assuming that this is all on the plastic (per your description)... maybe it wouldn't be too harsh to replace but, knowing FoMoCo's plastic pieces, who knows?

As for a remedy to remove it... I'm not sure I know of one... not on plastic at least.

Best of luck to her... that really sucks.

Try a Mr. Clean Majic Eraser. I hear they work great on plastic trim.

Please test in an inconspicous spot first though...

Dzervit had a terrible outcome on his 04' with the MCME. I, however, had great success with it on my 01'...

Not sure if the plastic has some kind of 'coating' on it but, it would appear that it does.

lol I told her just to write Che*y after the "f" part.

I think her best bet is going to be just to get a replacement part.

I'm positive that Mr. Clean would be able to get it off, but then you'll have a nice faded part of your bumper. Bummer! Actually, we are all assuming that it's on the black part... can you be more specific FTM? What trim level and is it the painted plastic on the front bumper or the black plastic like the rear step?

It's on the back bumper, on the side.
