7424 is a bit overpriced

From what I can see, the 7424 is not much more than a weak (3.4A) angle grinder geared down to run slower (2500rpm).

In the Toronto area, they are asking $240 Cdn for the 7424 where you can get a 4.5" 5A PC angle grinder for $100. A 5" angle grinder may be another $50

Talk about taking advantadge of lack of competition in that segment.

Poor Canadian bastard. That sucks. Can't you go mail-order from the states?

I suppose, but it wouldn't be covered by warranty. Canadian divisions of power tool companies generally don't honor warranty if I buy from the US

I've got a house next door for sale. I really don't want the current poor fat bastards that are looking at it to move in. Why don't you swoop in and buy it from under them? That'd be great... yeahh...

Wouldn't that be sweet!

I'd have to do it legally (green card and all that) otherwise I'd be one of those illegals that I keep hearing about.

Call Meguiar's Canada or go to their web site ( www.meguiarscanada.com ). I was at detail seminar about 3 weeks ago, they offered a G-100 with a backing plate an a couple of pads (I think 4) for $220. Pads being $22 bucks each and a backing plate being $30, the G-100 should run about $100 bucks or so. Not sure if it was a seminar special or not.

thanks TSC! You rock!

I never thought to investigate if Meguire's had a Canadian site.

The prices I was quoting were Canadian Tire and that was just machine (no pads/plate)
