I've been dissapointed by a bucket

I found this Rubbermaid bucket at target for about $10. I really liked it because it holds 5 gallons, has wheels, an extra tall handle, and a dirt grate in the bottom. I also bought the extra storage thing that hooked on the side for $3. I put it in my basement with some of my detailing potions in it and thought I would break it in today. Unfortunately, I had just made it up the stairs from the basement and the handle snapped off from the wieght in the bucket. No way it would last one second with a couple of gallons of water in it. I returned mine. Don't waste your money.

I can't believe I'm posting about a bucket in a public forum. This might be the most rediculous post since that hose nozzle that I was obsessed with.

Tell Rubbermaid... they will probably replace it. Make sure you tell them that you like the bucket, but the handle is weak... maybe they will improve it.................. then I will buy one!

I generally don't browse through the housewares departments, but I do appreciate your post about that bucket. I would be genuinely ticked if it broke with a load of soapy water in it. Rubbermaid was known for its quality products years ago. Betcha it was made in China, hmmm? Seems like the move to offshore manufacturing has reared its ugly head again. <heavy sigh>

That is a pretty sweet bucket. Why not just mod it? Drill the handles and make it stronger with some screws/bolts. It's the newest detailing trend: bucket modding!

Can we get a forum dedicated to this?

I went by Target today to pick up some stuff, by the way personally I think of the big three stores they have the best car detailing selection. Well to get back on subject, I saw your bucket in there. It looks like a great bucket but I noticed looking at the handle that it was made of some really thin plastic. The kind where you can basically shine light on one side and see through it like a sheet of glass. It's an awesome bucket for everything with the exception of that handle.

Darn if that handle wasn't like that I would have bought one. You know, all I want is to be able to have my cake and eat it too...
