Has anyone tried the new Michelin products?

Brake Dust Repellent,

Wheel & Tire Cleaner, and/or

When I get a chance I'll run by AutoZone and pick up a thing of that Break Dust Repellent, give it a try and let you guys know what I think. I figure since I'm the one with painted rims that are already a little messed up I can be the guiny pig

Nice review FTM...

What is the brake dust repellant like? I mean, did it smear up or is it a spray on, dry, and buff off type of product? What does it smell like (I ask to attempt to determine the chemical content and if it'll zap wax on wheels)?

I'm really interested in your opinions on this stuff.

Dust repellent is foamy, not a heavy foam like the tire shines you see on the market. Once you start whiping it, it becomes pretty watery and whipes very easily. I have not noticed any break dust forming yet but it's only been a few days. I was going to wait a week and then take a picture of any break dust forming.

One thing I'd like to mention though is that the tire shine has lasted, it's more flat but it's still very rich in color.

FordTruckMan82, thanks for the review. I'm definitely interested to here more about the Brake Dust Repellent. I'm not sure though it will work any better than a quick coat of NXT, but I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks again.

Closer to 10%.

I deleted several of my posts as they were useless to the thread. Just trying to keep it tidy as several folks are following this one...

Any new report on the brake dust repellent?

It's tough to judge what exactly is in the mix. The propellant (at 30%) is definitely a volitle organic compound that, in my opinion, would be detrimental to any wax that may be present on the wheel. The other 70% is listed as proprietary and thus, isn't listed.

RP,

Well no break dust on my wheels so far. I just took a good wiff of this stuff and smells a tad bit like rubbing alcohol but very lightly, you can barely smell it. The bottle really does not give you have information on the chemical composition of the product, just tells you the obvious like keep it out of your eyes.

I was in Wally World, picked up some Hot Rims, and noticed that there are a few of these Wheel Cleaners that now say "Break Dust Repellent." I noticed that Prestone has one that is selling like crazy at Wally World that says Break Dust Repellent on it. i'll see if I can find it online somewhere.

I'd just like to say that my Tires & Rims still look very nice though.

Very very interesting... I think you've sold me a bottle just out of total curiosity now.

My wife sincerely appreciates your review. LOL! Her vehicle is the lucky 'test vehicle'.
