NXT products questions
NXT products questions
Hi All (and RP),
I've done a search here and haven't quite found what I was looking for. The immediate results of using NXT looks great on everyones' truck except......
I have a few questions/concerns about NXT.
Years ago there was a polymer product that was suppose to be the best thing ever. The name escapes me but it turns out that after a couple of years it would cause the clearcoat to release and peel.
Has there been any long term tests for compatibility for the new types of paint/clearcoat? My truck is 2 weeks new and this would be the first application of wax. Should I use carnuba before the NXT?
How easy is it to use with hand application?
I see there other NXT type products. How are the results with those?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I would not use a carnauba before NXT. I would go the other way around. However, it won't "hurt" either way.

Sorry for the late response. I've been on the road with work.
It looks like Boss covered everything better than I would have... I'm really glad you still hang out with us Boss! I was hoping you wouldn't vanish since you let your F-Series go... I learn so much stuff from you that I'd have to find you on the 'other' boards to ensure I kept up to speed with your knowledge.
--This guy knows more than I'll ever wish to know about a vast array of products folks -- many of you sometimes send me emails or post with questions... I do the same but, often, they're directly to Boss or Intel486... these guys REALLY know their stuff!!!!!!! --
About the other NXT products...
NXT Tech Wax Liquid and Paste. NXT Window Cleaner. NXT Tech Protectant. NXT Metal Polysh. NXT Spray Wax. NXT Speed Detailer.
I've used all of these. I haven't managed to try Insane Tire.
All of the products are very good. The only product that I had trouble with was the Spray Wax but, honestly, that was because I was utilizing it in an incorrect manner. IMO, it may be more advantageous for one to simply utilize NXT Tech Wax rather than the Spray Wax. It's a personal opinion though.
Individual Breakdown:
NXT Liquid/Paste: A very solid product. This will be in my arsenal for a while to come.
NXT Window Cleaner: This stuff rivals that of Meguiar's Glass Concentrate within the D-Line. This is AWESOME stuff. I'm VERY impressed with this new product.
NXT Tech Protectant: Pretty good stuff. I just don't use a protectant of this nature much honestly. Many here have had great luck with it on the interior but, I don't treat my dash like many do. It's pretty good on trim.
NXT Speed Detailer: Not much to comment on here. Final Detail, Last Touch, Quik Detailer are all above this one on my list. I've had trouble utilizing this product effectively to be honest.
NXT Metal Polysh: Only have used it once and it was pre-release to the public. A very good metal polish but, I can't really comment much more than that. I liked the results that it yielded the one time I used it. I will probably own a jar of this soon.
Spray Wax: See above.
Hope that helps...

I haven't had a chance to try that one either... but I've heard a lot of good things about it.
Question for those of you who have tried it... how fine is the aresol mist and, also, how heavy is the mist?
I ask because of overspray issues on the paint. Black is a b*tch of a paint color.

Thanks a bunch for the fine words!
However, I can't say that I agree with everything you said.......... I've learned more that a "couple" of tips and great product recommendations from you and others here at F150 Online. There's a tremendous amount of knowledge here.......... and you certainly contribute a great deal with your knowledge.
As a wise man once told me............... An "expert" is someone who knows how to do it "right", because he/she has probably already done it "wrong"!
Anybody who has done this stuff for a while can relate to that statement! In the end, it's not how much knowledge one has that's important........ but how one chooses to share it!
Thanks again!
P.S......... How were the videos?

I'll do that this evening right after I get my Magnaflow installed (and, naturally, polish the tip -- the exhaust tip... LOL!)
