Windshield Wipers

I was searching through some old posts concerning wiper blades and was checking out Silblades based on this thread.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...light=Silblade

In this thread, there's mention of a price of $12.99 and also that some people have put 22" blades on their F-150s, with no problem, as opposed to the 20" blades that I guess are standard.

When I go to the Silblade web site, there doesn't seem to be a way to specify what size you want. Just poke in your vehicle info and it gives you the default. Also, even though the above thread is a little over a year old, the price of the blades are now $22.00? I realize one of those prices is probably without shipping but $9.00/blade seems a little high to me and there doesn't seem to be a per shipment price for shipping. Only per blade.

So how did you, who own them, get yours? Just tell the website you had a different kind of car so that it would come out 22"? In addition to wanting to buy them for my truck, my wife's car also needs a set, but when I enter her info, only one blade comes up. Not a left and right.

I'm not sure how to proceed here.

I ordered mine from ttstuff.com but, you can always call Silblade direct and order... that's what I did for my wife's vehicle.

I still have my original set from my 2001 on my 2005 now and they're just as good today as they were two years ago when I originally put them on. It's an EXCELLENT investment!

I bought mine from DriverFX.com using a discount code that someone posted here. You don't have to buy them for a specific vehicle, just order any size and/or color that you want. They are excellent wipers.

Thanks.

I love this place. Such quick replies.

ttstuff.com doesn't have the size/color combos I'm looking for, but I sent them an email anyway asking if they could do something.

I'm still trying to figure out drivefx.com's website. I'll search the forums here for info as well.

Thanks again.

Ah.... I see my problem now. It's driverfx.com. Not drivefx.com.

Must ... learn... to.. read.

Or cut and paste.

Ordered my set today. thanks for the info. I had to go with the straight black ones, a little afraid of what the blue ones may have looked like. Anyone have the blue blades on their truck. If not, how can you go wrong with the straight black on black.

That was a thread I started and I can tell you I am very happy with them and still have the original pair.

As a matter of fact when I traded my 01 in last Feb for my Lightning I took my Silblades off my 01 and swapped them with the factory ones on the Lightning…

I got Silblades over a year ago after reading about them on this site, and must say they are a much better blade than the Bosch Micro Edge type that I was using prior.

BUT ! The frames rusted out just as quickly as any other set I have ever used.

I still replaced them with SilBlades (22") because they were that much better.

My question is: Has anyone tried the new framless style that NAPA is offering? ( I think they are calling them "beam" blades...?)

I can't find a link, but I saw a flyer in the store the other day...should have grabbed it.

The look pretty good, no place for ice to collect in the frames...

Thanks, Matt

What's really funny is you mentioned they actually stopped the rain. My truck isn't driven much, so it has seen very little rain, but I had to drive it yesterday and it was pouring down all morning and was supposed to rain in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area all week.

The rain stopped by lunchtime and 3 and a half hours later, the roads were pretty much dry while I drove around.

I ended up getting the white blades for my white truck and I think they look great. I also ordered a set for my wife's car, but screwed up the passenger side size. I haven't gotten the replacement yet, but I'm sure they're going to be great.

you can get new wiper blades at Wal Mart for only $2.38 this is the whole thing, and when i had trouble installing them a trainned Auto Technician from the Wal Mart Service Center installed them for me. also at Advance Auto Parts they will install ur wiper blades free of charge too, their trainned auto service expert told me there is an up and down side to all wiper blades and most people don't know that, he said most people install them upside down and that decreases how effective the wiper blades work.

Anybody try these, yet??

"Beam Blades"

I think I might try them as "Winter Blades"...

They look pretty interesting, OEM on some German cars (Audi).

I've had the rediculously expensive Piaa blades for about a year. If you can forget the price ($48) you would be impressed. No skipping, chattering or noise at all. I would also look into the new Bosch blades. They seem similair but much cheaper.
