I have a full blood-mutt... she's part lab, part dalmation. Needless to say, her hair is identical to your lab's hair (only it's black).

Two tricks...

1. The roller sticky lint brushes. They work very well but 'load' quickly causing you to have to replace the sticky stuff.

2. Rubber gloves. Using those 'Playtex' gloves that many women use to wash dishes with, run your hand across the fabric against the grain. This is my personal favorite. It works very well without the hassle of 'sticky stuff'.

G'luck!

My yellow lab usually rides in my wife's car. It has leather seats and the hair wipes off. We use a blanket so the claws don't scratch the leather. When the dog does ride in the truck we have some sticky roller things but what seems to work best is when I wrap packing tape around my hand and just pat and roll your hand across the upholstery. Vacuuming is useless as the hair seems to weave its way into the seats and carpet.

I like to wrap duct tape around my hand with the sticky side out.

Ahhhhhh, duct tape, is there anything it can't do?

I've got the black lab hair... A good vacuum will work but it takes a long time. I spend about 1 1/2 hours 2-3 times a year getting the hair out. Take all the tools off the vacuum and just use the end of the hose.

I can't attest if this product works or not, but it looks like a good idea. I keep threatening to buy one, though. My yellow Lab hasn't been allowed in Daddy's new truck so far, and I'm afraid to put her back in the bed since she can get a little exciteable.

I have purchased quite a few things from Duluth Trading, and they have all been top notch.

the Duluth product looks great, but most of the extended cabs don't have headrests in the rear.. wonder how this could be modified to work..

They don't have headrests, but they have three anchor loops (for a baby seat). One above each seat at the top of the seatback.

I just use packing tape. I would think that Duct tape would leave some residue on the carpet, as it is too sticky.
