Soap and water, followed by a good wax job makes them easy to keep clean. I don't want to put anything harsh enough to cut through brake dust on my wheels.

Bleach-White

I use Wessley's Bleach-White.

It's actually a tire cleaner, but I noticed when cleaning the tires one day that the run off on to the rim cut through the crap. So now, When I go to wash my truck, I first spray the wheels and tires with bleach-white and let it soak while washing the rest of the truck.
When I'm done washing the truck, I use a cloth-covered sponge with the leftover car wash mix to scrub the tires and rims. They're left spotless. As long as you don't use that same sponge and water on the rest of your truck, you're golden.

That stuff ate the clear coat off my aluminum wheels on my Explorer! I won't use it for anything.

Scot7015 used it on his tires and some got on his wheels and he made them have permanent spots all over his aftermarket rims. I won't use anything but soap and water. Im not risking wasting $1,800 in wheels and tires because I wanted to get my wheels and tires cleaner faster.

does anyone know how to clean the letters on the tires? I try to use some SOS pads but it peels off the rubber on the sides.

i use bleche white on the white letters, spray it on sparingly and scrub with a coarse tire brush. it works wonders but try not to get it on the wheels or paint. it wont ruin it right away, but with continued use it will. this dupont teflon wheel cleaner claims it cleans tires too, but i dont have while letters anymore so i wouldnt know how well it does

The Eagle one is great for in-between cleanings. For the great once every two month cleaning get the Mothers Powerball and the mothers wheel polish. Works FAST and easy and really gets all the crud off !! Then a quick wax and you are set for a few more months !!!

well your not really set because the brake dust accumulates in the span of only a week!

Meant that you only have to do the "big" cleanings every few months ... and that is why the Eagle one works great for the "in-between" cleanings EVERY week !!!
