They've obviously worn. The blades, themselves, aren't standard black rubber; they're silicone.
Naturally, just about anything out there on the market subjected to frequent friction will break down a bit... The Silblades aren't an exception.
Like I said, I've loved these wipers for almost 2 years now but, it's definately starting to irritate me a tad. I will buy another set if, for some reason, the warranty doesn't hold but hopefully, they'll trade out with me with no questions asked. I've treated them exceptionally well and they've never been subjected to harsh chemicals intentionally. Long story short, they've simply worn.

Second, I would be shocked that $26 wipers would have a 5 year warranty. That's just amazing! Maybe if they were $30 bucks a piece. I am watching closely to see how this turns out. In all honesty, I would be happy with wiper blades that cost about $26 a pair, and lasted a bit over a year. I guess I am easily placated when it comes to wipers.
Good luck!
Looking back at my post I've had mine a year and a half now. They still work great. RockPick do you see a lot of sand in your neighborhood that would wear the blades faster?
My son drove my truck, and was impressed with the clear windshield. He wants me to get a pair for his car. I drove his car and realized that he just never cleaned his windshield. A spray of glass cleaner on the inside does a lot of good too.

I still haven't managed to find a minute to call them; hence, it's stopped raining here! LOL!
After investigating it a bit more, my windshield definately has several hard water marks and runs. In short, I want to make explicitly sure that I'm not experiencing this problem as a result of my negligence before I try to work on a warranty replacement.
I'll bust out the rotary and a compound of my choosing and spin it off... We'll see how that works.

RockPick: I just noticed that the ones that Summit has on their site are the "Ultra" versions, not the original Silblades. I will try to give them a call today and see if they have the original ones. If that doesn't work, the site posted earlier (22" Silblades from TTStuff.com ) is where I will probably order mine from.
TT is where I originally purchased my wipers. They seem to be a solid company. I got great service.
I'm going to do my windshield today. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

I just want everyone to know that I ordered a set of Silblades solely because of this thread. Man I love this site! I can't ever seem to keep my wallet full since I joined though.

What do you think about spraying some kaboom on that windshield. It works great on hard water stains? BTW, how do you get hard water stains on your windshield?

I still haven't had a chance to tackle this and am heading out of town on biz for a week so, it may be a while before I chime back in...
I may try the Kaboom before pulling out the rotary... that'd definately be easier.
I would recommend putting some kind of towel or similar at the base of the windshield nearest the wiper cowl so that the chemical isn't able to go on to the plastic or seals around the windshield.

What do think of this? found on ANCO web site,

Maintenance Tips
Complete Cleaning
While washing your car, simply take a small amount of Bon-AmiŽ on a sponge and clean the windshield and rubber wiping element, as well as the other exterior glass on the vehicle. Bon-Ami and a sponge will remove ALL road grime and oil-like deposits caused by general vehicle use, and make the glass look practically new again

Just ordered a set for the wifes Navi. At $44 for the pair from silblade with shipping, they are not much diff in price from the PIAA blades that I've had on my Lightning for over a year. I've been happy with the PIAA's cleaning ability, but the arm has oxidized somewhat.
Thanks for the heads up on these blades and hopefully I'll report how good they are soon.
