Zaino ?

Just Purchased some Zaino Z2, Z5 and Z6. Was reading instructions and it says to use the Z1 polish lok first. Is this necassary or is it just what they recommend. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This site is the best ! I'm addicted
I learned so much about my truck and what could be done to it.

brianextreme,

Yes, if you didn't get the ZFX, you should put the Z1 on prior to the Z2/Z5. Then, apply another coat of Z1 after every 5 or 6 coats of Z2/Z5. The Z1 helps the Z2/Z5 bond to the surface.

I would highly recommend you get the ZFX. That way you will be able to put up to three coats on in a day.

Zaino is the best polish I have ever used. It, in my opinion, outlast anything on the market. I put my last coat on over 4 months ago and live back east. We have had a bad winter, lots of snow and TONS of salt. Truck is still shinning and beading water.

zaino rocks!

anyway, yes, definately pick up some z1 or zfx. since you are in jersey also, i recommend going with zfx instead. it'll last you roughly 2 bottles of polish, so the 20 bucks for the tiny amount isn't that bad. that way you can do 3 coats in a day, and with jersey and how friggin humid it gets here in teh summer, you'll be glad you did, otherwise you'll be waiting hours on end for that zaino to dry.

i use zfx, but i do plan on getting some z1 next time i reorder, and use both of them together. guys said it won't hurt, and only help it bond better, so what the heck

Ok... I can't seem to find how/where to order this from. I'm in the military stationed in Belgium... anyone know a good website to order these products from?

These sound like just the thing for the damp, rainy, muddy weather over here.

Thanks,
Pete

Harley:

You use Z1 and ZFX togeather and it helps bond better? If so I am interested because when I first bought my ZAINO I bought the Z1 and ZFX, but after reading I haven't used my Z1. If it makes it bond better I might as well use it then let it set.

Oh, I thought it was PICK Zanio it ROCKS...

When I got my Zaino, I talked to Sal Zaino and he said if you get the ZFX then there is NO need for the Z1

01 XLT Sport,

I'm not Harley#356, but I do agree that the combination of the Z1 & ZFX helps the bond. At the begining of the detailing season, I always use Z1, and then apply 2 or more coats of the Z5/ZFX. After that, an occasional coat of Z1.......... whether your using ZFX or not, seems to increase the durability.

yes, sal zaino says its not necessary, and he's right, but its also not necessary to do 9 coats in like 3 months, but i do it anyway LoL!

but it will help the stuff bond better and last longer i would think. and it won't harm anything, so why not go for it.

umm....you are only supposed to do 3 coats in a day with zfx. its not that 3 coats will take you all day and if you have time you can do more coats, cuz heck, if it worked that way i could probably do 6 or 7 coats in a day, but the way zfx works and in the directions it specifically says only do a max of 3 coats in a day, because anymore and you are pretty much just wasting your time, because the zaino needs time to setup and bond to the truck and "cross-link". thats why you should only do 3 coats in a 24 hour period, and no more. won't hurt, but it doesn't help.

No to agrue, but I was told four was ok if using the ZFX because it makes it dry alot faster. I only had the let the zaino dry for about 30 mins. and it was ready to take off. It didn't take me all day to do either.

Here is a pic of my wife's car after the four coats and nothing else. This was also 3 months after doing it. Wether you do one coat a day, or 10, as you can see it works great!!!!
