Zaino ?
....uh, I have a 91' vehicle that has oxidized badly......if I went the whole nine yards with Zaino do you think it would do anything for it?!?
I really don't know anything about waxing/ buffing/ detailing. But from the sounds of this stuff and reading their website it looks like I may have a glimmer of hope......of turning a badly looking hooptie to a presentable hooptie......

bluemesa159,
The order form is on the top in the logo. Anyhow, just get the prices off the form, email Sal with what you want, and he will tell you what to do.
ez149guy,
The Zaino won't take care of the oxidation, or any scratches. You need to get the paint surface in as best condition possible before starting the Zaino process. Zaino is a polymer protectant, not a paint cleaner or abrasive polish! You may want to try a product like Meguiar's Medallion paint cleaner first........... that should remove most of the oxidation......... from there you will have to analyze the paint condition to see if it need further work.

RockPile,
The Medallion is a very good product, especialy when used with Meguiars #7 prior to the MPPP. However, having used Medallion for a few years, I can tell you that it doesn't have anywhere near the durability of Zaino. Still, the MPPP is a product I would recommend to someone who doesn't want to spend the money for............. IMHO..... a better product like Zaino!

FYI - I'm simply looking for a good yet cheap product to make my overseas "beater" look decent. I've got an 89 BMW 325i here in Belgium and the red paint isn't looking too good. I have a good feeling the guy I bought it from didn't take too good of care of it. The first time I washed it really good, I ended up leaving streak marks in the paint. The hood looks like CRAP right now.
Granted, I only spent $3K for it and will only have it for 2 more years, but I do still have a little self-esteem.
Thanks,
Pete
First, you may want to see if one of the sponsors of this site has the stuff. Or............
You can always order it directly from Meguiar's. It is sometimes available in better Automotive stores, or you could check this place out:

Here's Meguiar's link:

I don't get it, but I'm Interested
I have been using Meguires three step process. It's been nice, but I'm not blown over by it. (I haven't followed all of the threee steps either though)
Some of the posts refer to the Meguires site. I looked there and searched for Zaino, but the only reference to Zaino only praised the application instructions.
Is Zaino ZFX, Z1, Z2, etc the same thing as Meguires three step process you guys are talking about? Meaning the same product branded by Meguires? Am I already using what you are talking about?
If it will make a large difference in my Arizona Beige 2003 SCrew . . . I'm interested and would clean my truck and start over.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
Zaino is not equivalent to Meg 3-step. Meg 3-step is a chemical cleaner, a glaze, and wax to protect. It does an okay job at reducing the visibility of swirl marks and making the car shine.
Zaino is just a protectant, a synthetic wax or sealant. It has no abrasives or chemicals to clean the paint. So, one would want to get the paint in the best shape before using Zaino to get the best results. The same is true with any wax, though.
Here are the proper steps for complete detailing:
Remove surface contaminants with a clay bar
Remove swirl marks
Polish to get the shine you want
(optional) Glaze for extra gloss, but only if using a carnauba wax
Protect - wax
Enhance - quick detail sprays help keep the surface slick, glossy, and sometime help reduce the dust that sticks to the paint.
You have a light vehicle and metallic which greatly lends itself to a sealant. They tend to make the paint look brighter on light colors and they last 2-3 times as long as carnauba. If you want to try Zaino, get the clay bar (Z18), either Z1 or ZFX, Z2, Z6, and Z7. Your light truck probabyl won't show much swirls so you can probably skip that step.
If you don't wnat to invest that much money, I highly recommend getting a clay bar and using it, then your 3 Meguiars steps. You'll probably want to do that once or twice a year while re-applying the final step 4-6 times a year.
If you want to try something differnt that I think will make a noticable difference in the look, and it much easier than Meg 2-step, pick up some S100 Shine Enhacing Paint Cleanser and S100 paste wax. The pair should be about $24. They are so easy to use, just wipe on and wipe off before they even dry or haze. I can put a coat of S100 on my ext cab truck in 15 minutes.
Meguairs makes some great products, but the 3-steps are not some of them.
