Roger that batman... I went out and looked at mine and, ironically, I have a tad of rust there too. *shrugs* No biggie...

I'd be concerned if it was 'covered' with rust but, I just have a couple of spots. I'll keep an eye on it...

I'm afraid to look there on my 4x2.

Last summer I filled a 48 oz cup to the rim with a mix of lemonade and rasberry ice tea. I hopped into the truck and set it on the cup holder in the center console, but forgot to take out that rubber pice.

The whole cup fell to the floor on the drivers side and popped open. Yes, the whole 48 ozs. That can't be good!?

Update:

I just used some steel wool (forgot which gauge by it is VERY fine). the rust is gone, but there is some slight pitting visable. For the most part it was superficial. I coated it with some Break-free (same stuff we use for guns after a thorough cleaning). At least, now I feel better! greencrew- hold cow man! 48 oz. is a lot to spill. I've only spilled coffee in my interior. Luckily I had some Shout and it got the stain out. It smelled a while though. I'm sure it will be fine. You might want to check though.

Good luck!
