Damn Jack, you call that a truck?
I would need a driver wearing a tuxedo to tool around in that.

OK I would drive it myself but, only with an emergency jar of Grey Poupon in the center console in case a Rolls came begging at a red light.

(the mods have the best trucks)

Thanks, Raoul!

At first, I WAS a bit self-conscious about it, but then, I thought about how much time I spend in a vehicle and I realized I might as well enjoy that time.

I kinda miss the "personality" of the King Ranch though. This one's just pure luxury. It still does what I need a truck for however. It'll pull my trailer and I'll be hauling some lattice panels from Home Depot this weekend.

I've had two "bed shells" on two different trucks.

First was on my first truck, a 1970 Chevrolet CST-10 Sport Truck, 402BBC, T-400, 2WD. It was in about 1976-77, I was just in my '20s, I got the truck sort of by accident in a trade, the shell I added was aluminum. At the time, I used it for some overnight camping, some partying room, some light hauling too. It pulled a '65 GTO to the dragstrip well too. Was not something I really needed, so in time I sold it. The Mustang was a '73 Grande, just had a 302 and C-4, but after some tweaks, suspension work, it made a good car for me. My only ever vinyl roof and I learned to hate it always looking dirty.

My second shell was bought used from a buddy's dad off his pu, fit my '77 F-150 perfectly. I had a camping interior that was easily folded & removed, and when I was building my home, I had a sliding floor to pull out part way with tools on it. "Wife Unit" and I used it on some camping trips, once we left here and camped in the Smokey's on the way to Savanah, camped there and for a few days, camped up the Outer Banks rode the ferries, traveled our way up the Eastern Shore into Md., across Md. to Cumberland, then down into Va. to home through West Virginia. Fun trip, us two and our PomPoo Pup. Had TV too. The fiberglass shell started to crack at the corners at the rear glass so I pulled the aluminum inner frame out and made one of thick walled 1"x1" steel tube, welded & braced. Fixed cracks, they never returned or spread. I sold the shell maybe 15 years ago, but still have the truck. Below was in 1989 after a repaint using 1986 Toyota colors "Super Red" & "Super White".

I never thought seriously of a shell for my '07 Flareside, but I used to see one regularly locally and gave passing thought to one.

alright, this is a very inspiring thread! I've been considering getting a shell for a while and now I'm pretty certain I'm gonna do it!

I like the camper shell but I don't want a permanent thing at the back of my truck. Something that I can fold and store easily if I'm not camping. I think a roof top tent or a truck bed tent would be ideal for me. I used to own a 2007 Chevy Avalanche that has a tent at the back like this; Chevy Avalanche Tent 2021 | (auto-truck-accessories.com). Is there any thing like that for my 2018 F150?

Have you found one? Which product did you end up buying?
