I wanted to get a used bed extender from Craigslist and the only ones I'm seeing are from older F150's like 04-06 timeframe. Does anyone know if they are all the same from 04-14? I know with 15 there's the whole new body and bed style, but didn't know if there was any changes between 04-14 for this.

I want to use the older ones since when they are folded in, they provide more space to keep things from going all the way to the front of the bed. The new stowable ones aren't as big and don't have as much room when deployed inside the bed.

And was gonna get rid of it and replace with one of the metal ones. Is that the same thing you're thinking?

 

Yes. I like the stowable option, but it's too small when you fold it back into the bed. Which is what I want it for. To keep things from sliding all the way forward. I see that there's a cutout in the bed to use something like a 2x6, 2x12 board but its too close to the end. I'd like it back further towards the wheel well a bit more.

 

The one that Remingtonry has is the one that I am looking for, and I think I may still have my older stainless steel one from my 2006. Don't know where you are but maybe some kind of a trade would work out, but the shipping would probably be a killer.
