I appreciate everyone's input. I will probably go with the spray in to prevent the rusting that will surely happen from the existing scratches. I got a quote from a local Line-X shop and they quoted me at $435. Extra $150 for the no fade and an extra $200 for the no fade with color matching.

What is everyone's opinion on the color matching? Would you feel it would be a good investment or a waste of money?

Color matching is a waste of money. The LineX Xtra is awesome and I definitely recommend it.

I don't think a color match is a waste of money for some trucks. For example, if you have a King Ranch that's white with the Pueblo Gold accent, why the heck would you want a black bedliner!?

Although that looks great but I just have a Lariat that's dark green with a tan at the bottom and the trim on the top of the bed/tailgate is black. The bed currently has a black rubber mat.

How much better is the XTRA?

I think the black will look fine on the color combo you described. The Xtra makes it stay glossy and cleaner for a long time. With out it your liner will turn to more of a flat black.

I don't have the XTRA applied to mine. If you want I can take some pics tomorrow morning. I use my truck very often to haul stuff so mine has become quite dull over the period that I've had it.

Xtra prevents fading, maintains its gloss, is maintenance free (just wash it), is more chemical resistant, is easier to clean, and is fortified with DuPont Kevlar (fibers are 5 times stronger than steel).

TruckGasm ... nice looking color match there, it fits the truck well.

My old '77 has an drop in / under lip liner I dropped in it in the late '80s, I've hauled mulch, stone, dirt, wood, lumber, old parts, trash, shingles off of rooves with nails, etc ... I throw stuff in there, and it looks as good today as it did then. Makes a hellaceous racket when you throw something in there. Under it is a rusty stock floor with a sheet of 11 gauge steel over it that ties into the sides and welded to a doubled front bulkhead also of 11 gauge, plus I have reinforced the rear bed sides ... she's tight.

My '07 has a Line-X that was in it when purchased, really nice looking. I'm not so sure it would take abuse as well as the '77's drop in though.

I have thought of a drop in / under lip for the '07 though, but on the down side ...
... they are slick when dry and damn near dangerous wet ...
... but sliding a pallet loaded forward with a fork truck sure is easy.

Maybe I get one just to use when hauling heavy stuff in the '07, cut the sides off?

Maybe I can find an old used one for a long bed and cut to fit in bottom of my 6.5 foot flareside?
