Scorpion Bedliner vs. Linex

Any one ever had a Scorpion Bedliner? I have a Linex in my current pick up and have no complaints, just do not have a dealer close. I am willing to drive to have another put in my new truck, but have a Scorpion dealer right next to the Ford Dealer I am buying the truck from. Just thought I would research the Scorpion Liner, anyone with any experience?

Thanks for the input.

I'll give you some info and you can decide what's right for you. I'll compare/contrast with LINE-X.

Scorpian (Speedliner, and Superliner) are solvent based products sort of like paint (LINE-X does not contain solvents). The Scorpian dealer first must apply an adhesion promoter to the bed because the bedliner product does not have good adhesion (LINE-X does not require an adhesion promoter in truck beds). Then the Scorpian dealer paints it on with a brush, rolls it on with a roller, or uses a hopper gun (LINE-X used a heat/high pressure application). Like paint, Scorpian bedliner takes an hour or so to dry and 72 hours to cure (LINE-X dries in 4 seconds and cures within 24 hours). Scorpian's warranty is only with the dealer that applies it (LINE-X's warranty is a lifetime warranty that's valid nationwide).

I don't know if you have ever heard of Al's Liner, but Al's Liner is retail packaged Scorpian. I have info from Al's including several samples. I can tell you that the samples are NOT very strong.

Al's Liner samples. The red one has red glitter in it, the kind you used in Kindergartan.

Oh snap glitter!

Sorry to hijack the thread but this seems partially relevant.

Truckgasm, thought I'd ask this since you just replied to this thread. I'm sure the info is elsewhere but it seems to be eluding me. I just got an American Roll Cover and had to pull my old liner out.

There are some areas which need touched up due to the liner rubbing away paint (wheel wells, etc). I'm between getting a BedRug and getting it Line-X'd. Classes are starting back up next week so time is a major factor. Approximately how long does it take for a truck to be Line-X'd? Is it something I can bring it in for and wait on or is it an overnight deal?

Thanks for your help!

GATOR CREW: Standard LINE-X will fade, the optional LINE-X Xtra product will hold its color and gloss. If you wish, you can apply 303 Aerospace or Just Once (justonce.com) to the bedliner and that will partially restore the color and protect it from the sun. Or, you can go get LINE-X ReNew which includes the use of Xtra.

mblouir: Standard LINE-X takes about 2.0 to 2.5 hours, add 1 hour for black Xtra or add 1.5 hours for an Xtra color match. Bedrug is a good product and it's easy to install. It's good for light to moderate duty. The American Roll Cover is an excellent cover. It's VERY strong, very expensive, and it's not necessarily easy to install.

Man, Bed Rug versus a spray-lining bedliner like Line-x. Those are definitely not apples to apples.... I think the bedrug is major anti-slip. From what I hear, it's kind of a pain in the *** when it comes to loading heavy stuff like pt 4x4s, plywood, metal cause it really STOPS everything from moving, even just a little bit. If you want to have great protection and be able to have stuff move freely when you want it to than a spray-lining product like line-x, scorpion might be the right thing. Check out Spray-lining and Scorpion for great DIY kits. I think they are definitely the best in the industry, though monstaliner has pretty awesome colors and presentation.

I had a Scorpion bed liner on my 2000 SuperCab. Can't say I was impressed at all. It was thin. Very thin. That was 13 years ago, maybe they are better now.

The DIY Herculiner in my 2003 SuperCrew is much nicer, and it cleans up like new with a little armor-all tire shine.

Obviously LineX and Rhino are top-shelf, and you pay top-shelf price.

line-x is a polyurea, polyurethane blend, scorpion is a polyurethane paint with elastomers to make it thick. cannot put on real heavy due to the drying. My opinion is Line-x much better material. I like Ultimate Xtreme liners best.

Ultimate Xtreme is a blend (aromatic), and:

LINE-X XS-100: Blend (aromatic)
LINE-X Premium: Blend (aliphatic)
LINE-X Platinum: 100% polyurea (aliphatic)
LINE-X Body Armour: 100% polyurea (aliphatic)

As far as strength and durability goes, LINE-X Platinum blows everything away. I've yet to find a competitor's technical specs that comes close to LINE-X Platinum which will be available this July.

My '07 had a new Line-X in it, I have a cover on it so don't expect fading. However, I did find it to really grab stuff I want to slide in and out, and I sometimes might haul something that might damage the Line-X.

You see old used unwanted drop in bed liners laying in yards, beside shops, etc. I took one that is like new, a "freebie", that fit a SB Chebie, trimmed the sides and floor to fit my same length 6.5 foot Flareside and simply slide it in on top of Line-X. I left front wall in place. II also left the verticle parts of the fender wells bumps in place to let me slide plywood between with out scuffing Line-X. Two oval cutouts let me tie it in place in case I use it with no load like on the eway to get a load.

Works so well, I saw 3 more beside a body shop one day and inquired, seems I saved them from a burn pile .... for free. I cut one of them to fit my 4X8 trailer and the others, I have for "as needed" stuff.

Just an idea.

You certainly may express your opinions. However, your first statement is factually incorrect. And, all the products you mentioned are from the same company, so I suspect you are a dealer.
