My truck is two tone white and tan, I'd like to get the tan sprayed with Linex Xtra in black. I'm just wondering a rough estimate for the cost of the exterior, no door jambs.

 

i got estimated at 375 by a guy who does it by the book which alot of places dont. but i have heard of people getting about a 100 a side. but thats a really good deal. do you plan to do your bumpers as well? i think if you did the line-x with color match and did the grey on fx4's that would look sick. and thats what i wanna do so i wanna see how it looks on your truck first

 

$375 is not bad usually it's about $350 for the first 6in. or so and $100 for every inch afterwards plus extra for colormatch.

 

that wasn't for color match. just black.

 

I've always liked white, black, and chrome color schemes. The bumpers will stay as is, just the rockers would be black. I think I'll shop around for prices and hope they're a little lower.

 

Usually they come attached to the truck so the price would vary depending on which one you choose. You can buy them seperate for repairs and they would range between $75-$150 each.

 

At my shop, black LINE-X Xtra (no fading) would be $648 for your short bed crew cab.

$648? Thats a huge rip off. My Line-X guy quoted me $425 for my rocker panels in black Xtra.

 

His works speaks for itself, you get what you pay for ,and with him and his reputation I would gladly pay more for his work and experience. Also, remeber this is the side of your truck not the bed, so if it is a half butt job you will see it everyday not just when you are hauling something.

I have to tell you that from my experience, the price of applying LINE-X to rocker panels has THE most non-uniform dealer pricing of anything else on a truck. I know dealers that charge $1,000 for it.

Tell you what though, my price is probably less than what a body shop would charge you to just paint it. BTW, who is your LINE-X guy? Tommy in Hurst or Mike in Arlington?

 

It also depends on the market in that area up here in MI $648 would be little steep, usually its about $350-$400 (standard black) for the first 6 in.(up to the first body line or molding) and $100 per in. afterwards.

 

Honestly I don't know who the local dealers are yet by name, still looking around.

Those are the closest dealers to you. I know all the dealers in the DFW area except Jeff in Cleburne, he never participates in any of the LINE-X Corp. training so I've never met him.
