New Tonno Installed (pics)

I picked up the new Extang Express Tonno and installed...I really like it.

The install was cake, as the clamps were made into the rails and pre-installed in the correct spot. All you had to do was line it up, put on the bottom part of the clamp, and tighten. This cover is very taught and extremely flat...there is absolutely no "covered wagon" look. The cover opens and closes faster than any Extang I've ever dealt with. The rear latch is simple to use and the front also unlatches from the frame if you want to take it off completely...fast. As for being weather resistent, I took my truck to the car wash today and hit it with the high pressure. There wasn't a drop of water in the bed, no joke.

The only negative I could come up with is that it's not quite as low profile as the TruXedo Lo-Pro or Access Lorado. It's flat as a pancake, but it does angle up off the rails just a bit. This is so that opening/closing is easier/faster, I suspect. The operation is smooth as silk, so I'm alright with it!

I'd highly recommend this cover for anyone in the market for a soft tonneau.

I would have expected the cover to cover more of the rail width. Kinda looks like it shrunk in the wash or something

Yep

Being wider wouldn't really serve any purpose, because the rails sit in an "L" shape, but I see what you're saying too. I assumed that it was so you could access the stake pocket holes.

Price

They're going retail in the $379 range, with some deals out there to be had. That's cheaper than the TruXedo Lo-Pro I believe, and IMO it opens/closes a little faster than the Lo-Pro.

That really looks GOOD, Brian! If I didn't already have an Undercover I would get me one of those.
