Line-x is the BEST. where the world did you get the Line-x nationwide lifetime warranty is only for f150 and not f250, f350????
WOW, was that Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont bash the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LINE-X
harley - the whole site was down when i tried it... not just the link, and i have adobe acrobat 7
also, that is what i was told by a line-x rep. blame corporate for telling me what it did and didn't apply to, not bashing... i like the word "sharing".
i am telling everyone what happened and how it was explained.... by LINE-X CORPORATE.... i am merely repeating what they told me, i don't see that as bashing, as it is LINE-X Corporate that said it!

i would like to add, this is because the line-x dealer i bought a liner from failed to warranty it, this would not have come up except that the dealer failed to help me. i am sure there are 10 to every 1 dealer that would have warrantied it, that is not line-x corporate (or any other ind. dealer) fault. however the nationwide warranty was not honored by corporate because of the reasons outlined above... it is still a good product...

Line-x -
Pros- Much harder, dries faster, doesn't need to be as thick for same protection. i like the texture more than rhino,
Cons- fades like no body's business (it looks like crap in no time with their current chemical formulation), and the topcoat (for UV protection) comes off... WARRANTY IS MISLEADING - the warranty is for light duty (applies only to f150 not 250 or 350!!) pickups for NONCOMMERCIAL USE. meaning if you do constuction (say throw bricks in the bed) , it will not be covered by the nationwide warranty. Now that is not to say that the applicator will not warranty it, but the that is up to each individual shop.
Rhino -
Pros - little bit better no slip
Cons - soft, just rub it against any other bedliner material. dries a bit slower, so depending on applicator, you may get runs or "rain drops" on accessores or under bed rails (gravity causes this due to dry time). a good dealer can negate this, but it is more like to happy with a cold process (rhino is cold). personally i don't like the texture that most applicators put on, but that is just my opinion.
my opinion... go with line-x if you are going to use the hell out of your truck (most people don't) unless you are concerened it will chalk out in about a year, go with rhino if you want it stay a little blacker for longer. what other bedliner shops are there?

i was reading the issues with warrenties and Rhino linings offers a lifetime warrenty to the original owner of the truck. There used to be a rhino dealer where im located now and he closed about 5 years ago and we dont technically have to fix anything that we didnt spray but if we take pics and send them into corporate office they will ok us to do the job and pay us for it.
I have had Rhino on my last 5 trucks and so far, they have held up very well. I work for a Industrial Supply Company, and end up hauling all kinds of stuff. So far, I did manage to gouge thru the Rhino once [actually the guy unloading with the forklift did when he ramed the wheel well] but our Rhino dealer stood behind it with no problem. As far as the look: all of mine have been very consistent, but then that is due to the ability of the sprayer. And the same guy has sprayed all 5 trucks, starting in 1997.
I have seen Line-X and like the look of that also. But since I have no experience with Line-X, I will not comment any further. Had there been a Line-X dealer near me, I would have tried that on some vehicle.
To me, the major consideration is does it protect the truck bed. If so, it is good. If not, then it is bad. Maybe a little oversimplification
but that is what I bought it for.

I'm a LINE-X dealer, not a Rhino dealer, but here's what I've learned about Rhino's warranty. Feel free to chime in if I'm incorrect.
Originally, their warranty was with the dealer that sprayed it only. Then, in a effort to match LINE-X's nationwide warranty, Corporate Rhino wanted to charge each dealer a certain amount of money and the money would accumulate in a pot which would reimburse a dealer in case of warranty work for a truck from another dealer. The Rhino dealers rejected this plan so it was not implemented. Some of the Rhino dealers that are on these types of forums say that Corporate will reimburse a dealer and some say that nothing has officially changed.
Now, to me, if Rhino were truely matching LINE-X's nationwide lifetime warranty, don't you think they would say so on their website? You would think that they would WANT to advertise it. Right now, Rhino's website does not mention any type warranty at all, which again, I think is rather unusual.

I hear a lot about the Line-X warranty, but it seems pretty obvious that very few both to read it. I have no doubts that Truckgasm and Truckdaddy would fix any problems, but that is not to say that every dealer will, nor will the company back you up if the dealer denies your claim (been there, done that).
So, quoting from the warranty revised 1/9/04:
...is warranted not to crack, bubble, or flake as long as you own the vehicle. This warranty only applies to pickup trucks, equipped with original equipment beds, sold to individuals for personnel (the correct word would be personal) non-commercial use.
In the unlikely event the the LINE-X Spray-on Truck Bedliner does crack, bubble, or flake...
The it tells you to take your truck, the warranty certificate, and the ORIGINAL RECIEPT (emphasis added) to the original dealer, unless he is over 100 miles away.
That is a pretty tight warranty - basically says they'll cover materials and workmanship, but says nothing about you scratching or peeling it. I know, I had several claims turned down because sliding building materials across the bed was "abuse".
I mention this because the warranty is much bragged about, but really protects the consumer from very little.
Buyer be ware!

But, there's more to the story.
First, this warranty is a written nationwide lifetime warranty from LINE-X corporate. If you're comparing spray-ons, no other brand offers this.
As far as the warranty itself, it's intended for average consumers and it's for the LINE-X bedliner product, XS-100, only. LINE-X corporate knows that if the product is installed correctly on factory paint that there is little risk for defects for the average consumer. It should not crack, bubble, or flake. Peeling is included as either a bubble or crack. LINE-X (XS-100, the bedliner product) is not indestructible and absolutely may NOT be appropriate for some commercial use. LINE-X has commercial products also, about 20 of them. It may be necessary to spray a different product, such as XS-350, for commercial applications. There's practically no end to what "commercial" could mean. You should consult your LINE-X dealer in order to determine the appropriate product.
Example: I just finished spraying a forklift for a major food company. I'm using XS-100 applied on top of a special LINE-X primer called XPM. I think it will be just fine. The company is going to try it. If it does not work, I'm going to spray the remaining 19 forklifts with XS-350.
I hope that helps!
EDIT: One more thing. I know the warranty states, "receipt" but a receipt is NOT required. Reason: As of about a year ago, LINE-X dealers register the VIN of the truck in a nationwide database in California. So, if you ever have a problem, just show up at any LINE-X dealer. The dealer can search the database for your VIN and verify you have a LINE-X bedliner. Again, no other brand does this.

BUYER BE AWARE!!!!!!!!! OF THE DROP IN LINER WITH A RUBBER MAT ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR BED CALLED SOMETHING LIKE DUALCOMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LINE-X'S NATIONWIDE LIFETIME WARRANTY, THE PRODUCT, THE LOOKS, ETC....... HOW CAN YOU BEAT THAT. AS A CUSTOMER THAT CANT BE BEAT . JUST MY OPINION
Gentlemen:
First and foremost, let's focus here on what the topic at hand is rather than debating 'individual' products that benefit 'individual' people.
Secondly, this is a message board site that is free to all enthusiasts but, it is *NOT* a free advertisement and 'buy my product' site. We frown on that. Frown in a very big way in fact.
So, from this point forward, I highly recommend that we focus on helping rather than hindering and not promoting an individual product for individual gain.

As I have said before, Truckgasm seems like a fine, upstanding guy. While we're not likely to do any bedliner business together, I wouldn't think twice about working with him on other products.
