LINE-X Xtra
LINE-X Xtra
YIPEE! I finished the Dupont training course for LINE-X dealers. So, here we go....
Xtra makes the liner a darker black, glossy, and will not fade, guaranteed. Xtra contains Dupont Kevlar Mico Pulp, which makes the liner stronger, more durable, more chemical resistant, stain resistant, and scratch resistant. Xtra is applied like a topcoat but migrates into the liner. Xtra does not affect the unique LINE-X texture (as a regular paint would do by causing "puddling"). Xtra is included in the LINE-X written nationwide lifetime warranty. Xtra works best when applied to a freshly sprayed bedliner, but can be applied to an already existing LINE-X bedliner. Existing liners need to be thoughly cleaned before Xtra can be applied. Black Xtra is available right now, colors will be available in a couple of months or so. At the training course, we sprayed a LINE-X liner and the Dupont rep sprayed in Xtra. After the Xtra dried (about 10 minutes), we took the truck outside in the sun to see what it looked like. I then asked the Dupont rep, "Will this bedliner always look just like this?" His enthusiastic reply was, "YES". I about peed in my pants. The liner was BEAUTIFUL. For those who already have LINE-X: Remember what it looked like when it was brand new; it had that sparkle in the texture? OK, picture that, a darker black, and glossy.
LINE-X will begin rolling out the advertising stuff and will post info in the LINE-X website about the end of this August.
On another note, the Dupont rep told us something that was very interesting. They found during their research that LINE-X had actually penetrated the OEM paint in some areas! That my friends is SUPER adhesion.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the info TG!
I know pricing is a sensitive subject around here, but do you know, or did anyone mention how much it will be to add this to an existing Line-X job? If you know and do not feel comfortable posting, please e-mail me.

I'm not supposed to post prices, so I sent a email to you.
Xtra is not supposed to affect the unique LINE-X texture. So, I would say that the liner should not be any less or more slippery with Xtra.

After reading this thread about the new Line-X Xtra coating, I have been contemplating if I should have my already Line-X’ed bed coated with Xtra or just spray it with "Just Once". I got my bed sprayed about a couple of months ago, if that, and have already seen noticeable fade in the liner. TruckGasm, since your in the Line-X business, is this normal of Line-X? I was told that Line-X would not fade as fast as other liners, but yet there is a noticeable color difference between the sides of the bed vs. the bottom. Don’t get me wrong, I love my liner, just want to know if the dealer can do anything if I take it back to them. Also TruckGasm, if I do decide to get my liner coated with this Xtra product, will it restore that original shine on the bed even though it was sprayed couple of months ago? Can you please e-mail me the prices for the Xtra coating also. I have the 6.5 ft bed if it makes a difference in price. Thanks for all your help.

You need to clean the liner first. I suggest using water and a stiff brush. Let it dry. You will already see some improvment. Then, apply Just Once. If you will apply Just Once about once a quarter, the liner will alway look good. Funny, Just Once several times, get it? OK, if you don't want to mess with Just Once, get Xtra. You will NEVER have to do anything with the liner except wash it off with water. I'll email the price.

Hey, since you is the local LineX guru thought I would ask you. When I bought my 99 SCab it had a spray in liner in it. Looked good at the lot but now it is starting to discolor (turning BROWN) in spots and fade. It has also peeled off 2 of the bed bolts. I know it is not a Rhino (at least it does not have thier decal on it, nor does it feel like my friends Rhino Liner) I have been debating what kinda cover to put over it - would a dealer be able to spray a line X over top of the crap liner I have now if so, what kinda prep and price are we lookin at. I am tempted to put a bed rug in but I dont wanna go with a tonneau cover cause I do haul the occasional big stuff (My fiancee and I are antique -read JUNK- Buffs and tend to stop when we see stuff for sale at odd times which makes a bed cover kinda in the way. What are your suggestions...and anyone else' who wants to put their 2 cent in.
Hi TruckGasm and All, I just had Line-x sprayed about 2/3 weeks ago. At the time the place I went to had not heard of the Xtra yet. I am from Mass. but I had it done in NH. I have just received my Retrax retractable bed cover. Do you guys think it will be worth the extra money to prevent the discoloring. Or do you guys think that what little time will be spent in the day light will not effect the liner in the long run? Also can you e-mail me the going price for the Xtra... Thanks,
Edit: I also have the F-150 Bed Mat on the floor of the bed. So I think the standard line-x will be just fine. Thanks for any comments.

I think you will be fine with just having the cover over it. One thing that I did when I put my Lorado Cover on my truck is put in a Tailgate Seal. That way the road dust doesn't come up between the tailgate and the truckbed. It sure keeps the bedliner much cleaner. The Just Once that everyone talks about does miracles as well. Although not a permanent fix it sure makes them look good. I always spray mine with Just Once even though it's a brand new liner before I go to shows.
cesardajr: Email sent to you.
Ogre1: It's not a good idea to spray on top of it. I would not do it. Clean the liner with a stiff brush and water (SCRUB it). Apply some Just Once (www.justonce.com). Try that first.
5.4SCREW: No, if you have a bedcover over the bedliner, you really don't need Xtra. It's not a bad idea to spray some Just Once on it occasionally.
