Line X or Bed Rug?
Line X or Bed Rug?
I really need a bedliner in my truck. but i dont want a drop in. my dad has a line x and it looks/performs awsome. but the price for one in my truck is about $500. Then i saw this bed rug things, and saw that they are running around $300. I am just wondering if they have any pro or cons? Which one would you put in? I use my bed mosltly for hauling groceries, school stuff, big power tools and my bike. not to much dirt and stuff end up back there. any info is appricated.
I have a bed mat and love it. You can pull it out in seconds and wash it nothing slides on it so you don't need to tie stuff down and its only like $100 bucks for the mat and tailgate kit. I think I got mine form truckaddons.com. I have had liners and spray liners in other trucks and didn't like them because stuff slides all over the place. Save your $ and buy a mat.
I had Line-X in my last truck and it's great if you do any heavy hauling or hauling any chemicals that might spill. Mine helpd up super well in my old truck.
I'm going to be getting a bedrug for my new truck. I've seen people with them and they seem to work great. The only complains I've heard about them is it's sometimes hard to get stuff like small wood particles out if you haul wood in the bed of your truck.
I have a sample piece of the material and it looks really good. It's a pretty light foam with the carpet like material on top.

One more vote for the Bedrug. I've had mine for about 3 months and love it. I don't haul a lot, but when I do, its easy to clean. Even if I did haul a lot, I think I would still get a Bedrug. I had a bedmat first, but every time I took it out to clean, I had little rust-like spots all over the bed. I definitely didn't like that. Bedrug was cheaper than spray-in liners, so it was an easy choice for me. Originally, my concern was that the Bedrug would fly out of the truck, but its very secure. I couldn't be happier with it. Hope this helps.

The bottom section and the section on the tailgate are all one piece. The only way dirt could get under is if you went through a big puddle of dirt or mud and it shot under the bottom of the tailgate under the Bedrug. I installed a tailgate seal that seals this off from happening (it goes on the sides and on the bottom of the tailgate and seals it off.
Here is a picture of the Bedrug:

When the tailgate closes the excess fabric actually hangs down below the tailgate.

Hey guys,
I got my bedrug yesterday and installed it and it is AWSOME! I love it! It took me about 2 hours to intalll, cause i was taking my time, taking pictures along the way and just not in a big hurry. I really get to test it out in 2 weeks when we going camping and my truck bed is my sleeping bed!

I bought it at Home Depot. They have door and weatherproofing seals there. It is called "AllClimate" Marine & Automotive EPDM rubber weatherseal . 10 ft of it was $6.
