I've found one local place to do Rhino Linings? Closest place for Line-X is Southampton, PA. I'm in Southern NJ, does anyone know of a Line-X installer a little closer that is reputable?

Second, I'm looking to cover the bed with possibly a rollup snapless solution. What does everyone recommend? This is my first truck and don't want to make rookie mistakes. My neighbors roll up snap cover caved in this winter, hmmmmm. If you guys have any tips let me know.

I would like to buy the cover ASAP, any help you guys can provide is appreciated.

 

I love my Access roll up cover. I highly recommend it. As for the bedliner, you can't go wrong with Line X or Rhino. I would suggest throwing a rubber bed mat on top of ithe liner for the ultimate protection.

Like Wandell, I also have an Access cover very happy with that also .

 

well especially this being your first truck, i'd suggest you check out the thread titled rhino vs. line x which discusses possible issues with spray-in liners as a whole as well as the differences between different spray-in products should you decide to go that route. remember, a spray-in liner is essentially a permanent modification, so do the research prior to making any decisions.

 

I really appreciate the input. Thanks for the welcome. I hope to keep this truck for a long time. I'm hooked already on driving it, who would a thunk. This truck could run over what I was driving as if it were a speed bump.
Where did you guys buy Access cover? Is it snapless? If you have a URL for your model cover that would be a huge help. I want to buy one soon so I can seal off the bed until I get a lining. I like Wandell's idea of the rubber on top of the spray-on. Hmmm. Truth be told I'm a classic car guy(60's era) just getting into modern trucks. I have some catching up to do.

Jhogan, where did you get the bars on the side of the rails. I would not mind getting a set of those in black. Hmmmm.

I would, I'm having trouble finding a dealer less then over an hour away. I can drive but for service I would like to have someone closer. I've seen the Rhinio and ehhhh, I would like to see some Line-X in person. Do you know of any dealers close to Southern New Jersey?

 

I got the Access cover and rails at the same accessory store here in VT. The cover was $425 plus another $50 for them to install it.

The bed rails are Putco Side Locker rails. The were $225, I think, and I installed myself. There's lots of places that sell the rails online and I'm sure cheaper than what I paid, but I wanted them at that moment. Impulse buying is a great thing.

I bet if you called LINE-X they would send you a sample of the material.

I love mine, it's great. I seriously considered the color match, and if you have the $$, do it. It's awesome. It looks great. But the black one looks good too.

Such a pro install (spray in...) too.

The hour drive is worth it for the LINE-X, but you better have somebody else go with you, because it takes a couple hours.

Here is what is wild, I've seen 4 or 5 Rhino linings 3 from the same outfit for installation. They varied in thickness from 1/8" to over a 1/4". Seems shorter beds were thicker as if they almost shot a specific gallon mark. The one guy commented on how the 8' bed took 5.5 gallons. I really want to see some Line-X, just not sure of how dramatically different the beds looked from vehicle to vehicle with the Rhino. Drips on the side rails on the one they told me was one of the better sprays. Hmmmm. The outfit I just saw the 3 from did remove all bed bolts which is a must for me.

I'm going to check on the Putco side rails, is the tonneau cover hard to install? Has anyone tried it. Its only 50 to have the shop install it but it might be nice to know how incase I need to remove and reinstall? Hmmm. Thanks for all the info guys.

 

I know the darts are going to fly when I say this but take a look at Dualcomps' liners. They realy are fantastic. I can hardly tell the difference between spray in and theirs. Much more protection. As far as a cover I looked at Access and Truxedo and whent with the later. I think they are both good covers, I called a distributor who carried both and asked them. 2 out of 3 said Truxedo.
