plastic bedliner

I just got a regular plastic bedliner for my truck. Anyways, i was out stompin around in the box unloading empty beer cases at about -20 degrees celcius and i started to wonder if during cold weather, these bedliners could crack or shatter. Has anyone ever had this happen?

I had one in my 2000 F-150 for 4 years. I beat it mercilessly in every temperature from 0-105 degrees and it looked brand new when I got rid of it.

I second the motion on the toughness of the plastic bedliners. My Ford liner is 3 years old and still looks good.

My next door neighbour had one (Ford drop in), when I was living up north. It stayed about -40 C for Jan and Feb. He would run his Ski-doo on it, drop gas cans (5 Gal) on it. Never cracked, warped, nothing. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I purchaced a " Rugged Liner for my 2003 F 150, new for only $129.00. it fit perfect except the holes were in the wrong place for the tailgate, so I just punched new holes with a hammer and a screwdriver, I also cut out holes in the side of the bed liner so I could use the side latches that were bolted on my bed. It never cracked or warped on me.

I was cosidering a spray in paint on or mat. I had a mat in my 85 F-150 and it did the job but after the horror stories I've heard on the spray-ins and the thought of taking 100 grit sand paper to the bed before installation just didn't sit well. And at the cost of the Rhino's etc... decided not to go that route.

A neighbor has a Ranger with a OEM liner and with rocks, lumber, etc, thrown into it over the years, I must admit the liner still looks great after 4 years. (Missouri winters and summers)

So, I decided to go with the Ford drop-in liner. $250 out the door. So far pleased as punch and it looks good, too - Ford logo and all..

My local dealer recently ran a special for $169 to get rid of the older style liners. I prepped one of my trucks with underlayment and slapped it in. It works perfectly, as my last one did.

Awesome. Wish I new that last week!

Oh well. I'm still happy with the Ford Liner.
