How do I remove bedliner?

I just bought a used truck (my first truck). I can see lots of dirt under the bedliner and wanna be able to clean beneath the liner. But I cannot figure out how to lift it out.

I could see the 4 wall brackets that I removed without any problem. But the top ledge piece (one on the left and the other on the right) is holding the liner wall. How can I do it?

By the way, one of the 6 plastic post covers was missing. Can I buy this from an auto parts store? Or is it liner specific?

Thanks for your help.

The best thing you could do for your truck is to trash that drop in liner. Go get a spray in liner, line LINE-X.

Thanks for the recommendation. I spent all my money on the truck. Have to live with the bedliner for a while. Do you know how to remove a bedliner?

Thanks.

most drop in bedliners can be removed by -tailgate down -remove any fastners -then raise the center of the bedliner(next to tailgate ) this shoule release the sides

When you lift it up in the center of the rear, put something big under there to hold it up as you work the sides out from the rear to the front.

Thanks, MM. It will be my weekend job. By the way, how are the side strips fixed? Permanently glued?

The side walls of the bed liner should not be glued or attached in any way after removing the 4 tie down brackets. The liner just tucks tightly under the bed rails. If by chance you're talking about the top bed rails or caps, these are not removed with the bed liner.

Yes, I mean the top rails (or caps). Are these permanently glued to the metal underneath? Just curious.

They're not glued; they have clips. If you don't need to remove them, don't. The plastic is flimsy, the clips stink, and re-installation looks wavy. If you need to remove them, you start at the front of the bed and twist each bed rail from the inside of the bed towards the outside of the bed.
