Herculiner experience
I just got finished "painting" on my new bedliner. If the strength of the can is any indication of how strong the product is it will last a lifetime!! Damn can was harder than heck to open!
Seems like it's going to be a good choice for me doing occasional light hauling. I will put on the second coat tomorrow afternoon and will keep everyone posted, but so far, so good!

I did my truck about a month ago it has been great my friend has the rhino coat you can't tell the differanc i have a short box so there was a little left over. To open the can you have to go all around the lid then turn tool side ways go around again the you should be ablt to get lid off, per the factory , i metioned that to them when i asked aout drying time, . I am very pleased with the out come. good luck

SteveG, how thick of a coat does it leave on the bed? I know the Rhino liner is about 1/4 thick. Also is it a rubbery coating?
Thanks

It leaves it about 3/16 thick it can be as thick as you make it i made mine thicker on the tail gate because that is where most things get slid or dropped first i made the side thin because most things don't hit there the bed and wheel wells , tail gate i put three coats on , i love it,and it is rubbery, cleans very well also, i cleaned the bed out after my deer bleed in the back and it was so much easier than a liner, i will never own one (liner ) of them again. P.S. DO NOT PUT IT SOME WHERE YOU DON'T WANT IT TO BE IT DOES NOT COME OFF, SKIN INCLUDED.
I used 1/2 and 2" tape it worked fine, the hardest part was waiting the next day to put next coat on i have a cap on it .

Alright, great to see there are others using Herculiner. I painted it firstin my old 4x4 in May, then when I got my new "big Red" I painted it on, it has been great! Two coats on the bed portion is best...try it. Isn't funny how everyone thinks its done in a shop.

I did it on my tailgate inside surface only about two months ago. Bought a quart. Hard as heck to get the can open. After that it was a piece of cake. Very nice. It seems to pread evenly even with a brush. No marks and a good even surface after it settles and hardens. You will have to tape well and then use an exacto knife to help remove the tape cleanly. I am going to do the whole bed even though I keep a Leer hard cove on all the time. I like the product very much. I have already done the hardest part, that being the tail gate area. It does actually look sprayed on.

I didn't on the tailgate. But I will remove tie down cleats and tape over the rubber grommets in the back of the bed when I do that part. If you ever had to cut the stuff to get to the bed bolts or tail gate screws you can just patch it back with more stuff after that.
If you do "paint" over the access panel and screws on the tailgate is it impossible to get this stuff off if I ever need to get access? Someone said you can cut it away? Any recommendations? It seems to me it would look stupid without painting over the entire tailgate...
hey guys~
as far as the tailgate, i am planning on removing the access panel and then applying the Herculiner to the tailgate and access panel seperately, as they do with spray-in-liners. the reason i plan on doing this is because i am also going to paint my tailgate handle and would like to be able to remove it again if it becomes necessary.
