Post white residue on bedliner

anyone know what the white residue on my bedliner might be? Is it just fading or is it left over soap residue? Next, how should I get rid of it...Armorall?

Well the important question is, what kinda bed liner you got, spray-in? I had a spray-in liner done and the guy was saying if you let water sit too long, it will fade it. As a result every time I wash it, I dry my liner.

As a side note; the guy who did my spray on liner, I appreciate his honesty. Most spray-in liners claim to never fade, but he said that isn't true. He said the colored liners fade big time, and the black liner will fade if you let water sit.

Same problem here. It looks really poor. I have a plastic drop in liner. Any ideas would be appreciated. I can't afford to armor-all that thing every few weeks.

I have the stock plastic bedliner from Ford. The residue does come off if you scrape it, but we're talking about a lot of scraping so I'm wondering if there's a product out there that will dissolve it.

I've heard that the white residue comes off with some super fine sandpaper or emery cloth. However, I've never tried it myself. If you try it, make sure it's very fine and test it on an inconspicuous area.

Try Purple Power or Westley's Bleach White. If you sand use OOO steel wool.

I have a Line-X bedliner in my truck, and
I havn't had/seen any white residue on my bedliner at all. Although, I do on a regular basis, scrub it with a scrub brush.

I have a Pendaliner SR in my truck and it too has developed the white haze. I spoke with Penda and their liners have a lifetime warranty against such defects. I was instructed to return the liner to my dealer and they would replace it for free. Here is an excerpt from their response:

The retailer is authorized to replace it for you. They can call me for verification. All SR's don't haze over. We periodically test other raw materials to effect the best results and feel we have the problem almost eradicated. Thank you for your concern and write if I can be of additional help. Have a nice weekend.
I also asked if there was a product that would easily remove the haze and received this reply:

Occasionally air/soil materials adhere to the SR material in the liner and there is nothing on the market to fix it. Please return the liner to the place of purchase for review.
I hope this helps.

I have a rhino spray on and the instructions clearly state not to use armor-all since it will make the liner extremly slippery. They mentionned fading can occur but they sell a product which should be used once a year or so, depending on if it is exposed to the elements. Personally, I have a tonneau so it does not get direct sunlight which they implied is the worst.

can drop-ins be painted? what about spraying your bedliner with a can of the spray-on bedliner products, one small coat?

Well, my bedliner (a Ford liner) has the haze thing going on too. In the world of dealerships this is considered "discolored". Covered under the limited lifetime warranty? You bet!!! I'm getting my NEW bedliner tomorrow. So, since I am a Ford mechanic I get to work on my own truck, AND GET PAID TO DO IT TOO!!! You can't beat that!
