Anyone who has the skid resistor liner, how skid resistant is it? If I got a load of mulch or dirt in there would I be able to sweet it out or do things stick to it? Can you slide a box into it?

 

The SR is still plastic, but just a little rubberized for grip. boxes can still be pushed and dirt/mulch would be no problem at all. The only problem I have with the Penda SR is that the plastic is thinner than the Duraliner. Seems more likely to bend with certain laods.

 

Aren't the duraliners about 75 dollars cheaper???

 

I don't know. I bought 2 Ford trucks and paid $200 from the dealer each time. A friend of mine paid $190 for a Penda SR for his Chevy, but that was from an aftermarket place.

 

What are the liners with the Ford logo on them ?

My Crew had one in it when I got it. Salesmen threw it in along with the tonneau. I'll tell you one thing....he didn't give me much.

I've owned 4 other trucks, and none had a liner. I thought yeah if he's giving it to me I'll try it. I see no value what so ever in a plastic liner. Just my opinion, but stuff slides around, no drain holes, gunk between the liner and the body......what a waste.

If I were spending $200 I'd add another $100 and get a spray in.

The Ford Logo liner is a Duraliner. The reason I prefer it over spray is that is that it protects the bed from denting. I don't really care about water not draining as it just slides out when I drive.

Cargo slides around, which can be advantagious at times, other times not.

 

If you ever plan on selling your truck the "plastic bed liner" that Ford or anybody else puts in "could" get you hundreds more dollars then without it.

Reason, if you have any dents and/or scratches it makes the truck look "abused" abused basically means a POS that might be ready for serious repairs. Don't matter that you babyed it and know for a fact it was never abused.

Perception is everything when selling a truck, So if you use the bed at all that $200 can end up helping you make hundreds more.

Something to think about.

Same with a bed rug. The spray on's are nice, but if they look like crap, or are fadded, forget it, resale value goes DOWN. Some people will not even buy a truck if it has the spray on unless it looks brand new because you will NEVER get the spary on off, a new owner can always take out the plastic bed liner or the bed rug...

 

I went out and purchased the Penda... and it's not a happy ending. First I thought it was a no drill application... they had to screw it in to the side and tailgate. Second, I thought it was supposed to be a custom fit and they had to cut it to fit under the rail. I will be contacting Penda regarding my displeasure with the product but they warranty does not cover installation problems even whey you use one from their website. Wonderful way they back their own people.
