Adjusting the indicator will not help your starting problem.
Your linkage down at the transmission might need adjusted though.

found out the other day, its pretty much the same location on a ranger. the trick tho is you have to reach your hand up the dash into a tight spot, so if you have big hands you might need someone with smaller hands.
i was working on an 01 ranger, so not sure on other years.

Awesome tip! I just did it (almost 11:00 PM) - it took a minute to get it adjusted correctly. You do have to be a bit of a contortionist to get to it, though.

Can't seem to find it on my 2000 supercab. Followed it from firewall up no adjusting screw. Been driving me nuts for 2 years. Any other places to adjust?

Cannot seem to find mine. Have 2000 supercab. Traced cable back from firewall to steering column. Doesn't seem to have adjusting wheel just a support. Been driving me nuts for years. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Only place to find the brackets? My top piece is broke. Do you have a part number or something I can reference?

Also, its there guys. Id assume all of the 97-03[F150s] and 97-02 Expys have it in the same place. Takes a little eye searching, but its there

Thanks patman. I finally did find it won't need a video. For anyone who can't find it it is on the bottom of the steering column up under the dash. I had to get my head almost to the fire wall and look towards the steering wheel to see it. Also it is not real big.My white peice is broke so I assume i cannot adjust it. Can that piece be replaced or does anyone have another fix. Thanks

Correct, you cannot adjust it with the broken tab. My top piece is broken and it looks like you have to buy the complete piece...Im trying to find the part number or info where to buy instead of Ford
