Just to point out what Pat posted, the EATC ( Electronic Automatic Temperature control ) system does not have a blower motor resistor, but actually a Blower Motor speed controller.

Patman,
Thanks so much for the reply, but the picture you posted is not coming through. Just the little box with a question mark in it.

Could be you have images blocked from that site.

How about this ?

In your picture, it should be the rectangle box with the white sticker, just to the left of the gray connector.

I have been having a problem with my fan not blowing on any speeds.
It will sometimes work for a couple of days and then go out again.
It seems like when I go over a pot hole or a bump in the road it will either
go out or come back on. Any ideas?
Btw, 05 F150 screw with regular controls.
Thanks

I had my F150 in 2 weeks ago at the dealer to fix a miss and recharge my AC. After I got it back, i noticed that the 2 low speeds on the fan blower would not work. Those idiots only used the high speeds to test the AC after recharge and, thankfully for my wallet, I was able to research here and find an easy fix. Great How-to tech article. Thanks.

Excellent how to. Just fixed mine tools out of toolbox job done and tools away in 9 minutes. Took longer to go to the dealer. I bought the truck used, and I have to wonder if low speed ever worked. I always ran it on number 2 because number 1 didn't seem to do much.

Blower Resistor

A good Idea is to check the circuit for the "fuse" on the rssistor. I installed a new resistor only to find I STILL had the problem, only high speed. After fooling around with the blower motor itself and switch and relay. The "bright idea" that I might have gotten a faulty NEW part. I checked the 'FUSE" on the resistor and sure enough it was "dead" Put in another new resistor and all worked just fine on all speeds. Advance Auto Warrantied the resistor!!! A VERY good place to do business with !

Blower makes a noise on high speed, 03 Expedition

Thanks for the great pictures of the blower motor resistor. It is identical to my 03 Expedition. My problems are different. I had removed the resistor in my attempt to find the cause of a rubbing/almost thumping noise when the blower is on high speed. With the resistor removed I can see the fan/wheel and it is turning on all speeds. It appears to wobble some on high speed and produces the noise. Do you think the motor is going out? A bad bearing? Or maybe the fan is loose on its shaft? Any ideas?
How can I get to the motor to see more with out tearing everything apart. It is a tight space.
A final question related to the resistor. When I had it removed it was very warm and it looked like a wet glue substance was on the metal plate??? Does the fan blower keep this cool when installed?
Sorry for all the questions.

I have been reading the posts regarding the fan blower motor resistor. My A/C or heat will not work, it works when its wants to. It will not work for 2-3 days then all of a sudden it kicks on. I assume its not a fuse because a fuse would either work or would not. So I went and bought and replaced the blower fan resistor and within 3 days I have the same problem again, so that did not help. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, Thanx.

Magician,
I would check for a loose ground wire at the blower motor, or for voltage at the motor.
Electric problems in vehicles s*** to troubleshoot.
I wish I could be of more help.
