Just to point out what Pat posted, the EATC ( Electronic Automatic Temperature control ) system does not have a blower motor resistor, but actually a Blower Motor speed controller.

Could be you have images blocked from that site.

In your picture, it should be the rectangle box with the white sticker, just to the left of the gray connector.

I have been having a problem with my fan not blowing on any speeds.
It will sometimes work for a couple of days and then go out again.
It seems like when I go over a pot hole or a bump in the road it will either
go out or come back on. Any ideas?
Btw, 05 F150 screw with regular controls.

Thanks!!!

I went almost a year with only speed 4 working....well after reading this article, went to dealer, got part for $26...came home and less than 10 minutes later all sppeds worked!! Saved me a ton of time trouble shooting...if anyone has any questions please let me know!!1

I had my F150 in 2 weeks ago at the dealer to fix a miss and recharge my AC. After I got it back, i noticed that the 2 low speeds on the fan blower would not work. Those idiots only used the high speeds to test the AC after recharge and, thankfully for my wallet, I was able to research here and find an easy fix. Great How-to tech article. Thanks.

Excellent how to. Just fixed mine tools out of toolbox job done and tools away in 9 minutes. Took longer to go to the dealer. I bought the truck used, and I have to wonder if low speed ever worked. I always ran it on number 2 because number 1 didn't seem to do much.

Blower Resistor

A good Idea is to check the circuit for the "fuse" on the rssistor. I installed a new resistor only to find I STILL had the problem,only high speed. After fooling around with the blower motor itself and switch and relay. The "bright idea" that I might have gotten a faulty NEW part. I checked the 'FUSE" on the resistor and sure enough it was "dead" Put in another new resistor and all worked just fine on all speeds. Advance Auto Warrantied the resistor!!! A VERY good place to do business with !

Blower makes a noise on high speed, 03 Expedition

Thanks for the great pictures of the blower motor resistor. It is identical to my 03 Expedition. My problems are different. I had removed the resistor in my attempt to find the cause of a rubbing/almost thumping noise when the blower is on high speed. With the resistor removed I can see the fan/wheel and it is turning on all speeds. It appears to wobble some on high speed and produces the noise. Do you think the motor is going out? A bad bearing? Or maybe the fan is loose on its shaft? Any ideas?
How can I get to the motor to see more with out tearing everything apart. It is a tight space.
A final question related to the resistor. When I had it removed it was very warm and it looked like a wet glue substance was on the metal plate??? Does the fan blower keep this cool when installed?
Sorry for all the questions.

I have been reading the posts regarding the fan blower motor resistor. My A/C or heat will not work, it works when its wants to. It will not work for 2-3 days then all of a sudden it kicks on. I assume its not a fuse because a fuse would either work or would not. So I went and bought and replaced the blower fan resistor and within 3 days I have the same problem again, so that did not help. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, Thanx.

I would check for a loose ground wire at the blower motor, or for voltage at the motor.
Electric problems in vehicles s*** to troubleshoot.
I wish I could be of more help.
