Coobies5, i know this is random but, is your cab drowned out by your exhaust noise? Bc ive wanted to get my exhaus to come out right there but im afraid of how loud it will be in the cab.
it does drone, but i put 2 layers of sound deadener on the back wall and it help reduce it a little. but, i love the side exit style and i dont mind it, looks great with 3" tips coming out the side, thats for sure!
It does look pretty sick! cudos! Haha! What kind of muffler you got?
slp loudmouth 1 shotgun resonator
4" od x 3" in and out x 18" long |
hey Im trying to do this mod and I'm trying to remove my headlight switch, but I dont have fog lights so I can not pull the knob out as if I had them and get the screwdriver underneath. Is it the same concept even though I dont have fogs? Just pop it out with a screwdriver?
i normally just stick a small flathead screwdriver under there and pop it out
yup thats about the easiest way.
and just for what its worth, the way the 97-98 comes out is regardless of fogs or not. mine pulls out like that with no fogs because that how you have to remove it. |
K, Im going to go try here in a bit. So the verdict was that I WILL have to acetone the gauges? The LED's will not overpower the green overlay? Just making sure so I know what I'm getting into
So wat do the 98 models need to do? acetone? or just replace the bulbs with white l.e.d.'s
Yup all you have to do is swap the stock bulbs for white LEDs and you have blue
not to jack the thread but how is that rubber floor coating in the spray cans when compared to my carpet. is it worth swapping

Remove you headlight switch. This is a tricky part, so I made a video of how to do it

Ok I followed these directions and bought the leds from the supplied link. I have a 97 and it turned out good but the guage cluster has hot spots from the 37 bulbs, I may just leave it I'm not sure but just thought I'd share.

That looks pretty damn good! From what I've read, a simple change to white lamps will do the trick for our years' model(97). Since you used the LED's, what have you been able to do to combat the hot spots? I've read here that the LED's burn out kinda quickly, any problem with that? |

And yes, the 97-98 model years have a blue overlay. So a simple white (or ble LEDs) will yeild a blue background. The hotspots are going to be there since the 37 bulbs are smaller than the 168s but pushing the same wattage. And if you buy quality LEDs they wont burn out on you. The $15 I quoted at the beginning of this write-up were for some cheap Chinese LEDs that are currently going out one by one. I'm about to drop $45 on a nice set to redo this mod. |
