um, i've used the scratch x and its worked great. but i think it takes the LG off in any spots. Dawn should get most of it off. but in any case you need to repaint a part or the truck, it needs to be stripped with mineral spirits.

anyway, do you have a pic from further back of the door? i can't really picture it too good from that close up. thanks

and as always, truck's lookin good tampa
The photo is of my door and the blue Lightning is parked next to me... It's the reflection. Kind of an optical illusion...

The swirl remover is quite abrasive in comparison to the wax cleaner. I suggest that you use a low speed buffer when applying the LG and any wax. You'll always get swirls when removing either by hand.

The wax cleaner won't remove the LG. Just prepare the truck with a good wash to remove and wax, apply the LG, buff it off, use a wax of your choice(I like McGuire's) and use a wax cleaner before rewaxing to remove the scratches.

That's all there is to it.

so ive heard alot of opinions on here---Which wax gives the best shine; Meguiars, Cherry Wet, or Liquid Glass. I want to buy the best one so i need some input here. Also, where can i get some of that liquid glass?

i'm hooked on zaino now

if my truck was just a daily driver, would probably just stick with LG, but since i put it on alot of shows, i'm going w/ Z

Has anyone tried the Clay Bar from Meguiars? I used it on my hood and it really stripped EVERYTHING off. I guess dish soap is a little cheaper

One type that I can recommend not to use it this Turtle Wax Color Match w/ the "lipstick". Man, this stuff didn't last a month before it was dull!!

Will washing with Dawn strip Liquid Glass?

Will the Clay Bar strip Liquid glass? I think I need to clay bar my paint because I see a lot of white specs and stuff that appear to be 'stuck' in the paint.

If it makes a black truck look that great I wonder what it will do for a white truck.

i always did it by hand. went pretty easy. now i'm using zaino and the results are better, and it goes on and off even easier, but if your truck is just a daily driver, and not a show truck, the LG is a great product!!!

hmustang-
LG will look great on a white truck. White will be very reflective after using LG. I have used it for many, many years and love it!!

One tip- I never let the LG completely haze over or dry before removing it and make sure you follow directions and apply sparingly.... You will love the results!!

i do the complete opposite and it works great also. its just preferance. i dont put a ton on, but i don't worry too much about making it super super thin coats. also, i do the entire truck and then go back and buff it off. its really easy. except on my hood sometimes it would streak, then i'd either sprinkle it with a little water and buff them out, or re do another coat on the hood and not let it dry.

just mess around with it and do whatever way you like better.

Thumbs up

Harley#356-
I agree with you about sprinking it with water and buffing it out, I have done this before and it works great.

Great thread guys,
